This was one of the final shots of the evening, which I thought I'd post, even though I got my framing wrong ! I love the motion, the spiral, the colours, one of my favorite shots this year. This is Wouter Sybrandy who rides for Sigma Sport and finished 4th overall.
I think I should recreate this shot soon and get the composition right. Any riders interested posing for me ?

Bare 580EXII on mounted on camera facing directly forward. Set to multi strobe mode, 1/128 th power (I think or was it 1/64th), at around 110 -120 hz.. Forget what the middle setting does, but it read - -

The first few lizard flowers of the local lizard orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum) are bursting out like party-blowers from the flower spike. Around 80 more flowers to come, I reckon.

Macro Monday - Relaxation. My ideal way to relax is pilates but that is pretty hard to fit in a macro shot, so I took inspiration from this snail which is stretching and twisting, unwinding from its cramped shell! HMM all.
