Emergenza is a European and North American music festival for unsigned acts. The first Emergenza festival was held in Rome in 1994, then expanded through the rest of Europe through the 1990s, and has included cities in the United States since 2004. Today, 150 cities around the globe host the competition where bands play a 30 minute set and proceed through various elimination rounds determined through "popular vote". The "best band of the planet", as determined at the finals in Germany, wins a professional production, a sponsored tour and gear. Between 1995 and 2005, 249 bands in 9 countries are said to have been signed by major labels due to their participation in the festival. Artists compete for votes in a series of live concerts with a "Battle of the Bands" format, with those that secure the most votes advancing to further rounds.
The 2nd Step No. 7 coontest was held at the Bitter End on March 17. Randy Niles placed in first to advance to Semifinal No 3 at Crashmansion on March 31.
"Randy Niles (http://www.randyniles.com ) is an Original Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist who blends a compimenting mix of Rock, Soul, an Pop to create a sound and style that is undeniably his own. Great songwriting combined with vocals that are poetically soothing is what really captures the true essence of this Artist on the rise. Supported by members Kendall Buchanann- Bass and Tony Tilman- Drums they provide the tightness that a rhythm section should have. Together they are out to grap the ears and hearts of all that will open themselves to Music that is worth its weight."

Thanks so much for the photos & note. We're all so glad you're ging to see Jeffie - wish we were all going to be able to do something. Please let us know how we can best help out. Some great pics - the one of Suzanne & Linda ought to bring in some pretty good black mailing fees.

+ A3-size (29.7 x 42.0cm) unsigned photo-paper poster print of 'Still It Beats', in a glass clip-frame.
Now that some of my limited edition runs of 10 signed canvasses per optical materialism macropaintographs #1 to #30 are near to sold- out, I will, with a bit of luck and perhaps some help from younger friends here in Oxford, be setting up a website from where I will be offering for purchase, unsigned paper posters like this one, online, in a roll-tube, unframed. Not too far in the future. The first to have reached this stage is the picture here.
Wish me luck

R U CRUMBy & Fitch Designs~RARE
CRUMB R. ROBERT-AUTHENTIC UNSIGNED LITHO ON CANVAS -24 X 20 INCHES-EXTREMELY RARE!!!
Image size: 20" x 24"
HP heavyweight paper size: 21" x 25"
This special limited edition is printed on HP heavyweight paper and is most suitable for framing.
The silkscreen was made originally as a giant decalcomonia remember those? Like a fake tattoo. You used to be able to wet them and slide off the image onto your skin. Same concept, except the decal was designed to be dipped in a big pail of water and slide off the backing paper to be applied to the side of a van.
Except I saved this one. And kept it in a frame. The ripples are the backing paper. It was a kind of heavy duty butcher paper with a smooth side the image was printed to. The medium was a kind of vinyl ink.
The original was also used to make tee-shirts (red on white). I have the original, pictured with a watermark, and it's not for sale.

Unsigned & undocumented shell painting of New Zealand Maori village possibly c1880's. Possibly by John Backhouse be interested if anyone can assist in identifying it?
Roof in kitchen is nearly gone,so much of it is in ruins. But in one corner is a bulletin board with some items on it including some loan contract papers waiting to be signed! Calendar says 2004,I did not notice a date for the contracts.About this time the noises upstairs got pretty loud-my guess is racoons, judging from all the droppings everywhere-so I made my exit.
