I saw this tombstone at the St Charles Cemetary. It made me think about this civil war soldier, gone and forgotten. He went off to serve and gave his life in the service of his country. Who he was, we don't know. His family probably did not even know what happened to him.
I am a soldier in a different army. I want to serve and I do serve, however imperfectly. I will be unknown to nearly everyone, except for a few around me. And in another 140 years, I will be all forgotten, just like this soldier was. The big difference is that my Father will not forget who I am. I will be unknown to those around here, but my Father knows my name and will always remember me, as I live out eternity with Him.

Art installation "The Unknown Way" by artist Pablo Caviedes installed on the Broadway Malls. Consisting of 32 works from the artist's Cranium series combining Western memento mori with Latin American iconography. The works celebrate Day of the Dead or Dia de los Difuntos as it's known in Ecuador.

Upon asking the person who owned the garden I was taking some of the latest shots in, I learned that it is a form of a Thistle, but the type remains unknown so far! But I loved its form, I couldn't resist capturing it.

An unknown, but nevertheless magnificent waterfall at the southern main street of Iceland.
Bob found himself in unknown land, this afternoon. Instead of taking in the beauty, he simply grumbled to me how his legs would hurt by the time he gets home.
I knew he'd refuse to adknowledge he has no legs.
Whoever starts out toward the unknown must consent to venture alone.

A Variegated Fritillary, first one I've seen on our lantana, the only flowers we have, sorry. :) Had to research to find out what it was. Got a quick somewhat distant shot in very bright sunshine with my macro lens and had to crop a bit. Not the best quality so hoping it returns for a better one as it took off as soon as I took this one.
