DANCING WITH SWARMING PARTICLES is an interactive installation and performace that intends to explore the relationship between a physical user/performer and a virtual performer the “avatar” which has the physical characteristics of morphing flocking particles.

The avatar’s body is composed by flocking particles that initially float in the virtual space without any apparent order. It is through the energy of the physical user/performer’s movements that the particles will start to morph into the avatar’s body.

Reactive audiovisual installation of a smaller scale world. The audience acts like the Master of the forces of the Nature (Adamastor!) that has power to create, interfere or even destroy a world. The audience observes this “microworld” from a top view and can interact and interfere with it by blowing in the windmills. When this happens, the microword elements are affected by the wind.

The audience observes a world/planet which initially is empty, but that in the course of time starts to receive inhabitants. These inhabitants move around the planet and starts to multiply, and by reaching a certain level of inhabitants, the planet collapses. The audience has the power to rewind this process in order to save the planet. When a user blows in a fan, it generates wind that will pushes away is inhabitants, if the user is consistent producing wind we will be able to reduce the planet population, and extend the life of the planet.
