Unity Temple, 1905-1908, Frank Lloyd Wright, 875 Lake St.
One of the most important Wright's building in the beginning of the 20th century. Many people think it's the first modern building. Concrete only. Double core: the taller side is the Temple, and the shorter side is the House. No window at the street side. Lighting mostly from roof windows with yellow and green stained glass.
Wright said when he designed this building, for the first time he realized that the true soul of a building is not wall but space.

Most of us, here in the sub-continent would die before they stood like this in prayers but, in almost all of the rest of the world (including Saudia Arabia) this is a very common site in mosques and that, is the true spirit of Islam. UNITY.

Green Change joined forces with young activists at Tam Environmental Club to host a special exhibit for Tam Unity Day at Tam High School in Mill Valley, to invite students to go green and help fight climate change. We were invited to this student-only event by Megan Engelbrechten and Emily Pitkin, the leaders of Tam Environmental Club, and Green Change was represented by Fabrice Florin, Geo Monley and Marilyn Price.
For this event, we brought our Earth Bike, featuring a 6-foot earth globe on a bike trailer, which Green Change created to inspire people at events like these. We also set up side-by-side tables for Tam Environmental and Green Change, with a variety of calls to action and sign-up sheets. Our young activists invited students to help pick up trash and compost on campus, in return for metal straws. Green Change invited people to take a range of green actions, and invited students to join our next meetups or visit our website, displaying a dozen signs with QR codes for each action.
Many students stopped by to speak with us and a couple dozen signed up to take some of those climate actions in the future. We were glad to introduce these students to our programs, and hope the encouragement and information we gave them will help them do something about climate change.
Special thanks to school principal J.C. Farr and teachers at Tam High for supporting this special presentation to their students. We hope to continue to work with Tam Environmental on future projects.

Every week goes by without my entering the Unity Friends With Flair challenge, so this time I pulled out one of my Itty Bitty stamps and whipped something up. I used A Penny For Your Thoughts by Unity to make this retro design. I just love those little children and the LOVE sentiment. I was even inspired to pull out my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to do some coloring.

I also wanted to enter the challenge at PaperCrafters Corner for Magazine Monday Week 98, which showed a Mothers Day magazine cover as the inspiration. However, both my mother and mother in law are gone now so I made a LOVE card instead. The card uses a set by Unity Stamps and the scribbled circle and little icons are by Close to My Heart. I colored the little children with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut the red circle with a Spellbinders die. The banner is hand cut. When I was almost finished with the card I realized that I had left a small ink mark on the upper right card corner, which was very obvious...oh no! I couldn't figure out how to cover it without throwing the whole card design off so I cut the top corners at an angle....the mark is gone! Whew!
