Chong Kneas the floating village, the Tonlé Sap is the largest lake in South East Asia. Located in Cambodia it is unique because the direction of the water flow changes twice a year. During the dry season, it flows into the Mekong, but during the Monsoon season it flows inland, expanding from 2700 sq. km to 16000 sq. km during this time. Water played a very important part in the ancient Khmer people lives and is remains important in the lives of modern day Cambodian people as well.

This little bird gave me a nice gift. While I was only photographing the frosted branches, it came to land there at the very moment I pressed the shutter. I thought the movement would ruin the picture, but apparently it didn't...

A unique way of fishing by the Intha fishermen. They are standing on one leg on the extreme end of the boat. So they have a better view of the waters. The number of reeds and water plants in the lake make it impossible for them to simply sit down to catch fish.
Today seems to be a nice day for photos so I am poised to go out and shoot during my lunch break. Until I do that though, I wanted to post something so my only option was my archives. This is the Wells Falls in Ithaca, NY. I wish I had more time to take the hike that leads you at the bottom of the waterfalls. From there, the view is more impressive. I think, however, that even from that natural terrace sitting at the middle of the falls, the view is decent. The abandoned building is The Van Nattas Pumping station which was built in 1893 on the side of an old flour mill. Originally it provided water for the city of Ithaca for both drinking and fire stations. As the population of the city grew, more pumps were added and the station started to provide electricity too. This may not be the most natural waterfall I have ever seen, its location and the presence of this old mill though, make it quite unique.

Old, unique, and full of personality… The Tufa is otherworldly, but you need to search to find the best views. When we finally arrived at the South Tufa in the afternoon, we were thrilled and surprised by the number and beauty of these incredible God made structures on the lake... There is an easy boardwalk trail down to the Lake. The views are magnificent and beautiful. This lake is often used as the face of 'wish you were here' postcards, and deservedly so.

Started with a photo of mine taken a few weeks ago in our front yard. Shot as square so didn’t crop. Used normal oil painting effect at 50%. Then used Adobe photoshop express paper effect PA27. Left without border.

Unique experiences in amazing places .... it's been a while. I took this shot on Sydney Harbour. Four shots today with a common theme: boats on Sydney Harbour.
Common in name and number, but each one unique in my eyes and still inspiring joy and intrigue.
These common crow butterflies seem to favour resting on the trails of tears succulent I have. This past week I've seen one or two there every day.
Also known as the oleander butterfly due to them laying their eggs on the leaves of plants that have a milky sap such as oleander and two species of fig, amongst others.
This is specifically Euploea core ssp. corinna.
Wingspan around 90 mm.

Giraffes can safely eat from spikey bushes like acacia trees due to their long, flexible tongues and thick saliva. These adaptations allow giraffes to strip leaves from spiky branches without causing harm to their mouths.
The tongue's prehensile nature enables them to hold leaves securely, while the saliva helps lubricate the spines, making it easier to swallow. This unique feeding behaviour is a key adaptation that allows giraffes to thrive in their natural habitat.
Darling,
open your eyes.
You are not made up of those words that hurt you.
Or that number on the scale.
Or the expectations that you feel you will never meet.
You are made up of nothing more than you.
Simply,
beautifully,
wonderfully,
uniquely you.
You are a lovely and complex soul.
An individually fascinating combination of thoughts,
ideas,
feelings,
emotions.
No other is as beautiful as you.
Look past the mirror.
Look at your soul.
Only then will you see yourself as you truly are.
Beautiful.
So smile!
And don’t forget to love yourself.

The least colorful part of this colorful plant is what caught my attention -- a single white flower.
This is a Venetian Pitcher made on the Island of Murano. It is a popular Murano technique called Millefiori (a thousand flowers) which was invented by Murano Glass masters centuries ago. It is crafted entirely by hand and is created from hundreds of unique colorful millefiori pieces fused together under high temperature in a special furnace. We were fortunate to take a tour to this glass factory and watch the masters at work. This little vase is 5" tall and 4" at it's widest part. This shot is taken looking into the pitcher. Distinctive pair and . . they both are designed to use their razor-sharp wheels to cut slices through pizzas! But these two specific bikes will not be used for that and instead will be enjoyed TOGETHER as a pair of lovely and unique objects.

Thank you for taking the time to view this photo, faves and comments from you are greatly appreciated.
Owned by Rutland council, this building is recognised as one of the best examples of domestic Norman architecture in England.
BuIlt between 1180 and 1190, it is the Great hall of the castle, along with a now gone manor house built within the walls.
From Wikipedia:- "There remains a unique tradition that peers of the realm should forfeit a horseshoe to the Lord of the Manor of Oakham on their first visit to the town. Two hundred and thirty horseshoes currently decorate the walls of Oakham Castle. It is thought that this tradition is linked to the de Ferrers' family name; Ferrier was the Norman French word for farrier and the horseshoe has been a symbol of the de Ferrers family since Henry de Ferrers arrived in England in 1066. A horseshoe, orientated in accordance with county custom as the horseshoes are hung in the Castle, is used as a symbol of the county of Rutland and appears on the arms of the county council and on the flag of Rutland.
The oldest surviving horseshoe in the collection is one that was presented by Edward IV in 1470 after his victory at the Battle of Losecoat Field. Recent additions to the collection are horseshoes presented by the Princess Royal in 1999, the Prince of Wales in 2003, Princess Alexandra in 2005 and the Duchess of Cornwall in 2014."
Although there are a lot of amazing villages & cities in Alsace, Eguisheim is my favourite… This is a village on the Alsace wine route (La Route des Vins d’Alsace) It is one of the “The Most Beautiful Villages of France” (Les plus beaux villages de France) And plus, It is also holder of the prestigious 4* village fleuri award, which is the highest award. (concours des villes et villages fleuris) So this street shows the soul of this amazing village….Unique architecture, history, flowers where all represent great harmony of the colours… BeNowMeHere, Eguisheim, Alsace, France, 2015 via 500px ift.tt/1ViXjUb
A common garden bird throughout much of Asia, found in open forests, fields, and parks; introduced to several regions around the world. Often tame and approachable. Brown overall with a rosy breast and a unique white-spotted black nape patch. Plumage shows slight regional variation: western birds have dark centers to wing feathers, lacking in eastern birds. Turtle-doves are larger, have black centers to wing feathers and stripes rather than spots on the neck. Coos loudly and often: “coo-a-roooo”. (eBird)

A familiar bird to us but welcome nevertheless. We saw or heard this pretty dove most days during our time in Singapore, usually deep in the trees or on the ground.

A unique dimension that the beam of sunlight bought into the Canyon, a smoky soul. It is the falling sand that is shimmering in the sunlight.
One of my most favorite of places on earth! This one is from he upper Antelope Canyon.
I took the photography tour where you get more time and get to take a tripod with you. The canyon gets this beam of straight sunlight for a few minutes that makes the canyon a magical place to be at!
I can spend the whole week walking and taking pictures here (only if I don't have to earn a living!). Every curve gives you a unique perspective and every turn is an entirely different world!
Lovely clouds before the storm. I just love to see the sky, we have a different and unique show every day, isn't nature amazing? hehehe. Thank you so much for the visit, greetings from the center of America. :)
Nubes bonitas antes de la tormenta. Me encanta ver el cielo, siempre hay un espectaculo diferente y unico cada dia, no es la naturaleza impresionante? jejeje. Muchas gracias por su visita, saludos desde el centro de America. :)

Another shot from the Mini 3 pro looking from the east of Kirkjufell at around midnight.
Hard to get a unique shot of this beautiful location and iconic mountain! The midnight sun and cloud cover had a lot of mood to the scene.
You can see Kirkjufellfoss (the waterfall) at centre left. The classic Kirkjufell composition has both the falls and the mountain behind but the actual difference in scale is immense :-)
The unique dairy barn originally stabled 52 milk cows. It offers ground-level access on all three levels. Wagons entered on the upper level to deposit hay into the central haymow on the main floor below. The Brethren would drive the empty wagons around the circular barn floor and exit the same door they came in, eliminating the potentially dangerous activity of backing wagons out of a barn. The cows stabled on the main floor faced inward toward the haymow for ease of feeding. Manure shoveled through trapdoors to the cellar was stored until needed as fertilizer in the gardens. The Shakers maintained a working dairy farm at Hancock into the 1950s.
The fungi in the picture would likely have a rich, warm cinnamon color, with intricate patterns and textures that give it a unique appearance. Its cap may be round and flat or slightly curved, with a slightly darker, reddish-brown center and lighter, tan-colored edges. The cap could be covered in tiny bumps or scales, adding to its overall texture. The stem of the fungi may be thick and sturdy, with a lighter color than the cap. It may have a rough texture or be covered in fine hairs. The fungi may be surrounded by lush green foliage and moist earth, as it thrives in damp environments.
Overall, the picture of this cinnamon-colored fungi found deep in the cold rainforest of the Chilean Patagonia would be a stunning representation of the diverse and unique flora found in this remote and beautiful part of the world.

In the immortal words of Monty Python, "Now for something completely different". I start with this because most of my recent work, is regarding the landscape instead of architectural. This will not win any architectural photo awards, considering the presence of people, however it rendered a most interesting image.
This is the front foyer (pronounced, foi a/. and not foi er) of BC Place. And, it is extremely interesting how my camera sees this unique entrance, vs my eyes. At certain times of the day, the special ceiling lighting reflects off the floor, delivering an almost spider web like atmosphere. This shot was achieved just before I was politely requested to move along.
