While financial inclusion and financial deepening can promote economic growth and contribute significantly to denting poverty and inequality that is rampant in the region, there are also concerns that it could aggravate systemic risk and financial instability. Various dimensions of financial inclusion will be explored in this day and a half research workshop hosted by the Institute for Emerging Market Studies (IEMS) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and co-sponsored by Centre on Asia and Globalisation (CAG), at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore (NUS).

Architecture of Park Campus:

Creation of the Architecture Photography and Understanding Darkroom

Exploring each building character and nature, finding a surreal human character per each building, object and pathways within the exploration of Architecture photography at Park Campus

Representation of the Architecture and Still-life Photography:

Notion towards the Work – What it means and represents

The exploration within the work of architecture photography within self-work is very hard to show the meaning and notion of why, feeling, influences and inspiration towards it, due to the fact it being more of a technical and practical practice of my photography skills with analogue and darkroom practice, to improve and learn from to be furthered into my digital photography practices of the particular area, which I want to specialise in as a career.

The notion towards the work within the architecture is very experimental and technical, remember the type of film used, Aperture, shutter speed and processing times to show self-strengths and improvements which improves the skills within my portraiture, looking into the quality and sharpness of the object and subject, music and documentary, the timing and planning needed for the right photograph (similar to Henri Cartier-Bresson ‘Decisive Moment’ in street or humane photography).

Although mostly it shows the technical side of self-photography skill mostly, it also a secretive agenda of self-expressing the emotion and feelings of that day or week. Similar to the self-identity work during the second year but more in a discreet notion and representation of what my character and nature is like through the lighting, textures and patterns created or designed through the layout of the building or unique architecture which seems relatable and surreally matches my characteristic within the imagery, which is very difficult to explain though words or writing, demonstrating the reasoning of expressing the feelings and emotion through the camera, I use within my analogue.

Overall with analogue photography, it feels more personal and notion than comparing it with a digital photography work. Being more dedicated and patience which feels, like an actual art form within photography of what experienced current and past photographer learnt from, learning from the mistakes and improving on their technical skills as an art form within the photography practices.

Oskaloosa Middle School worked with University of Iowa Health Care STEM Education to create a health field interest day for their middle schoolers. The Oskaloosa middle schoolers attended three sessions on the health sciences campus. These sessions were Performance-Based Assessment, Case-Base Learning, and an Anatomy Overview. The middle school students interacted with Standardized Patients, who were not real patients, but acted out scenes that might be seen in clinics. A medical student, from the Carver College of Medicine, joined the middle-school students for Case-Based Learning; where they all worked together on a case to diagnose a patient. Finally, two more medical students joined and taught the middle schoolers about the brain, heart, and lungs while talking about what medical school is like.

University of Iowa Health Care is committed partners with formal and informal educators and community organizations across the state to advance STEM literacy to inspire the next generation of health care professionals and build a foundation for children to understanding their own health. In FY2016, more than 22,000 school age children were engaged in hands on learning provided by 300 faculty, staff and students.

Synopsis

First Published in 1998. Routledge is an imprint of Taylor & Francis, an informa company.

I visited the "Mapping Knowledge. Understanding the World through Data" exhibition in Mons, Belgium, which is European capital of culture in 2015. An exhibition for all persons interested in data visualisation/infographics, and all those interested by the "knowledge" topic. The biggest surprise for me was to discover and to learn more about the Mundaneum. It is the crazy project of two Belgian, Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, who tried in the late nineteenth century to gather and classified the world’s knowledge available on...paper at that time. They created an internet on paper! Their final goal was to design the ideal society, with the help of Le Corbusier. Mundaneum is not only a big crazy project but it is also the place and the concept that hosts the exhibition (The message is the medium. Isn't?)

The exhibition starts with a large timeline of "data visualisations" (maps, drawings, etc) which begins in 366AC.

An interesting part of the exhibition is on the tree (symbol of knowledge) and its use in visualisations to represent the organisation of knowledge. Another part offers orginal works by Paul Otlet done for the Mundaneum project, wonderful. A part is dedicated to "invisible networks and cities" which proposes visualisations of the hidden flow of data around us. To finish, a section on "Data is art" where artists use data to create pieces of art.
