a forgotten gas station under the scorching desert sun. the rusted sign stands as a silent witness to a time long gone. no cars, no people – just the wind and the distant mountains. the road stretches endlessly, leading nowhere. everything here feels abandoned, frozen in time. a scene of quiet desolation and nostalgia, like a memory that refuses to fade.
the sun is sharp. it divides the world into two versions: the bright and the dark. on a white wall, a tree draws a portrait of itself in shadow. it is a temporary tattoo on the hard skin of a concrete building. below, two people walk. a large one and a small one. their own shadows are short and unimportant. they move through the architecture, under the shadow of the real tree and past the shadow of the ghost tree. it is a simple walk on an ordinary day. the light has made it into a silent play.

Drax power station. The only coal powered station still under power, but burning wood pellets imported from the US. Once the most powerful power station in the UK, producing 6% of the UK power. Many questions over its sustainable credentials...but it does make or a good photo.
Spent an hour at Cadman's Pool yesterday afternoon. Phill went into the woods but I sat by the pond right next to a group of Canada geese and their young. Once they got used to me I was able to sit real close and get some sweet shots of their family life.
