I never seen such a Sakura ball !! Also It' was only one ball on this tree.
The Mausoleo di Galla Placidia in Ravenna, Italy, has an unassuming, almost primitive brick exterior in the shape of a Latin cross. Its interior, however, is stupendous and overwhelming, the most precious and beautiful splendour one could ever imagine. I have not seen anything like it in this world. The basic colour of the fifth century mosaics that cover all of the ceilings and vaults, is indigo-blue. But this colour is not only mutating in places into grey, white, golden or azure-blue, it is also interrupted by red, yellow and green. Shown here is the Greek key border (in trompe l'oeil style) that separates the barrel vault from the cupola.
Unbelievable, but the season is already changing. After weeks of heavy rain, the heat wave came back again. Luckily she didn't resist for long. Heavy storms and thunderstorms. As a reward, wonderful morning fog and the two horses grazing peacefully made for a wonderfully still photo.

Thanks for watching, much appreciated!

Even parallel lines, reaching into infinity, meet somewhere yonder."
Pearl Buck
A couple of bokeh wednesday shots from the archive, fun with a macro lens, very shallow dof, and a spiders web in deep space.

My daughter is 8. Her birthday was yesterday. I don't know how or when it happened. I just can't believe what a little girl she has become.
An unbelievable sight of a rainbow! Something i had never seen before, i doubt i will again!
"Why are there so many
Songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbow's are visions,They're only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told, and some chose to believe it,
But I know they're wrong ,wait and see.
Someday we'll find it,
The Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me"

We took our vacation from home in Seattle to Moab this year (2014). It was unbelievable.Every turn there was something more beautiful.
Canyonlands National Park is a U.S. National Park located in southeastern Utah near the town of Moab. It preserves a colorful landscape eroded into countless canyons, mesas, and buttes by the Colorado River, the Green River, and their respective tributaries. Legislation creating the park was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on September 12, 1964.[3]
en.wikipedia.org/wiki
The park is divided into four districts: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze, and the rivers themselves. While these areas share a primitive desert atmosphere, each retains its own character. Two large river canyons are carved into the Colorado Plateau by the Colorado River and Green River.[4] Author Edward Abbey, a frequent visitor, described the Canyonlands as "the most weird, wonderful, magical place on earth—there is nothing else like it anywhere."[5]
I used the Lightroom app on my iPhone for creating this photo on a flight over Spain. The light and the clouds were simply unbelievable.
Unbelievable coloration, just wish I was there during great early morning or evening light. Well there is always next time.
"I was continuing to shrink, to become...what ? The infinitesimal ? What was I ? Still a human being ? Or was I the man of the future ? If there were other bursts of radiation, other clouds drifting across seas and continents, would other beings follow me into this vast new world ? So close - the infinitesimal and the infinite. But suddenly, I knew they were really the two ends of the same concept. The unbelievably small and the unbelievably vast eventually meet - like the closing of a gigantic circle. I looked up, as if somehow I would grasp the heavens. The universe, worlds beyond number, God’s silver tapestry spread across the night. And in that moment, I knew the answer to the riddle of the infinite. I had thought in terms of man’s own limited dimension. I had presumed upon nature. That existence begins and ends is man’s conception, not nature’s. And I felt my body dwindling, melting, becoming nothing. My fears melted away. And in their place came acceptance. All this vast majesty of creation, it had to mean something. And then I meant something, too. Yes, smaller than the smallest, I meant something, too. To God, there is no zero. I STILL EXIST !"

Terrace falls, is a picturesque, medium sized waterfall that does not get tourist traffic. At least not compared to some other popular places in the mountains. I'd read that it's best to visit during rain so I had that going for me. Arriving there, to a breathtaking scene was such a great feeling. Unbelievably, a semblance of sunshine broke through the rain for a few short minutes.
I am so glad that I decided to Google small tours of Alaska. This cruise was great. A little more costly than the big ships (for one, hate big crowds), but we got to know all of the 40 passengers as well as most of the crew except those that worked at night while were sleeping.
It was a magic moment. Dawn was breaking, there was fog all around, and this is the reflection of the land in the water.
It was just an unbelievable photo moment, when I looked at the shot!

not an exact restoration, the back of the house was altered and added onto and the central tower was not restored to the original design.

Two years ago (2013) there were a lot of nervous people in Michigan because we had several very dry years in a row, and the Great Lakes were at their lowest levels in history. All kinds of theories emerged explaining the drop in lake levels.
The picture below (in the first comment ) shows the same spot in Lake Michigan on the beach at Mission Point Lighthouse. The clump of reeds in the above (just below the horizon) picture corresponds to the mound in the center of the picture below.
Incredibly, the lake has risen about 3 feet since January 2013, due to heavy snowfall, and higher than average rainfall. Now, there is concern about beach erosion if the lakes continue to rise, with heavy storms ahead.
