Hard to believe all those gangly parts will eventually fit together to make an elegant swan! This is his teenage phase where nothing seems to coordinate, but he's so cute! Sometimes it's just all too much for him trying to figure it out so he needs to kick back for a while!
I have a few images where the mum or dad coot has the chicks complete head in its mouth. Not quiet sure what they are doing, unless they are trying to get the chick to swallow the food. The little brother looks very concerned.
