Self portrait influenced by a similar portrait of Harry Houdini. Loads of great versions of this can be found on the internet.
Maybe, coffee for two! I took this one at the end of last month but it's time to give those highlights a chance to shine!

Another from the sunset two nights ago. I feel this shot shows the sky at it's best, and I just love to include plane trails.

There was a bout of “Cumbrian flu” in West Yorkshire early this morning as Cas put together a patchwork squad for the long trip to League leaders Kells. I was even asked if I had my boots with me ! Despite the earlier panic Cas put up a very decent performance and played their part in a very entertaining encounter. But in the end a powerful and energetic Kells squad took control to run out comfortable winners. Must admit I did find it strange that the match ref wanted to control everything himself without any linesmen to assist.
Kells ARLFC are based high above Whitehaven but the pitches are a brisk 5 minute walk from the clubhouse. My reason for going was to watch a match at the 'Big Waite' an exposed coastal location high up on the cliffs overlooking the Irish Sea and in the shadows of Haig Pit Mill which dates back to the thirteenth century . But the game was played at their secondary location on the village rec which also commanded fantastic views over the Cumbrian countryside as far as the eye could see.
In hindsight it did not really matter as the Haig Colliery Pit Mill is covered in scaffolding whilst they attempt to bring it back to its former glory.
According to the locals there are only 21 roads in Kells itself. There are others but you are unable to drive on them.
This is only Kells' second season in the conference leagues and they look set to secure a second title in the coming weeks and continue through to higher leagues after a rich history of dominating the local Cumbria & Cumberleand scene on a regular basis. They were excellent hosts and the post match meal was delicious and went down a treat.
All seemed peaceful in the North Lakes as we drove past the Bassenthwaite Lake. One could only look and admire how beautiful it looked and marvel as to what mother nature has produced. It was simply stunning.
The Cas Party bus was bouncing all the way back to base. You would never have guessed that they lost as much laughter, music and singing could be heard. I shudder to think what will happen when they record their first away victory of the season.
Another very enjoyable day out.

Here is a model of the electron that distinguishes four groups of quarks by their phase and their electronic quark content. They are used to define two spatial axes. For more detail, please visit WikiMechanics.org.
The soundtrack is the Prelude in A minor on 'O Traurigkeit, o Herzeleid' by Johannes Brahms, WoO7. Played on the Orgue Poirier & Lieberknecht at the Collégiale Notre-Dame du Camp, Pamiers France. Uploaded to WikiMedia Commons in 2008 by the performer, Bastien M.
They live right next to a huge farmer's market and seem to be friendly and cautious exactly when appropriate.
I need to rework this merge (look at the bricks and the far right window), but otherwise this was my house the night two feet of snow fell. It was nuts.

I've included this shot to help show the contrast of colours.
Foreground: green paint pot created by a fresh water spring.
Background: orange paint pot created by high undiluted iron oxide content.
The paint pots themselves are formed by the accumulation of iron oxide around the outlets of three cold mineral springs. As the rim of iron builds up around each pot, they gradually increase in height. The greenish colour of the two larger pots is the result of the mixing of fresh water from a small creek, which empties into the largest pool.
Apparently somewhat uncommon in NJ, 3 of these grebes were hanging out together with a couple of Horned Grebes and a few ducks in the Lighthouse Marina a few blocks away from Barnegat Lighthouse.
Thanks to a birder met at Barnegat Lighthouse for telling me where to find these - they were right where he said, but I had to be patient while I waited for them to untuck! I got two of them out in this shot, but the third just turned his back on me.

Just finished the two big horses tonight. This is a colored pencil piece done with Polychromos pencils on Rivers paper. I blogged about it today. You can read the entry here: flyingponystudios.blogspot.com/2011/06/horse-art-two-roan...
