Two Butterfly species I captured this summer. The top shots are are of a Bronzed Copper. The bottom is a Western White.
Alternate species identification might be Purplish Copper and Checkered White. I am new at Butterfly identification.
London United TA209 (SN51 SYH) loads for Surbiton on a 281 journey, with another bus running full route to Tolworth behind.
Bringing up the rear of all four buses is an Abellio Surrey 514 - I'd seen enough of the Christmas chaos in Kingston and escaped on said 514, heading to Surbiton to find the new Enviro200 I'd seen (and missed) on the other 514 working earlier in the day at West Molesey.

I'm a little disgusted by many aspects of the change but I think I'll be staying. The annoyances are nothing that an evening of building Space won't fix.
Two glorious examples of Art Deco Moderne face one another in Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1. The site at 157-197 Buckingham Palace Road is occupied by the former Imperial Airways Empire Terminal. It was designed by Albert Lakeman, it was described as the finest air terminal in the world when it opened in June 1939, just three months before World War II began.
By the time peacetime civilian flying could resume after 1945, Imperial Airways had been subsumed into the state-owned British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC). Passengers ceased to be conveyed to Croydon Airport or the Southampton Flying Boat terminal, but a dedicated fleet of buses transported them to the new London Airport at Hounslow, which became London Heathrow (LHR) in 1966. Passenger use at the terminal continued under British Airways auspices until November 1980. A Listed Building since 1981, the site has been occupied by the National Audit Office since 1986.

November 1, 2025--One of two images--I checked the Ginkgos in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, New York, USA. The leaves are bright yellow, but most have not yet fallen. So pretty!
Here is Beefy, a day after his haircut, lying on the couch (one of his favorite spots) with a stuffed Devil that Lisa and I found while doing housecleaning Saturday afternoon!
Could it be this Devil that makes him sneak food when given the chance, and that causes him to playfully harass Sage and Princess?
Hehehe.
Beefy is definitely more of an angel than a devil!
To, Too, Two...

This image is a grid of various blends of the numeral 2 that I created on my way to the final, Too Many Twos, which you can see here:
www.flickr.com/photos/qthomasbower/3563416561/
Each is a processed blend of some of the most "interesting" numerals 2 on flickr, composed with some of the best images of the number 2 in modern art, composed with images from the Visual Mashups pool that, while entirely abstract, had the same basic form as the number 2.

These dudes have some great cool self-assured postures and expression... I mean, look at that perfect casual slouch the guy with the tie has! And of the other guy - the worldly stance, head slightly tilted... confident.... How experienced in life they intend to portray themselves! :)
Interesting point: note the belt on the fellow with the tie.
I scanned the photo with great detail. Take a close look at the largest size using the magnifying glass.
BTW, this is a photo I found in an antique shop.

That is the way of nature. The stalks in the image are crossed, symbolizing the bond of the individuals. Their heads are close but separate, and each brings his/her strengths to the relationship.
Whatever statement the lovely, wooden flowers are making, the surrounding negative space supports them. BTW, the flowers are from a trip to Prague.
Done for Macro Mondays 'Negative Space'. HMM!
Hi everybody,
This shot is taken in Höllviken. I went down there at around lunch time today.
For this image I decided I wanted to do something unusual. I saw the gap between the two piers and the sun almost being in the middle. I took a few shots. I think the composition and the high-key effect work great together.
Please let me know what you think. I'd love your feedback. Thanks.
two face was mostly painted and the hairpiece is a butchered lego girl's hairpice. some detail is also sharpied onto his torso, hand, arm and face.
Enhanced ; not photometrically calibrated. Replacement of the sky / Reframing

Two couples stroll down the Chicago street set on the Paramount Pictures Studio lot during Thursday night's Paris Photo Party.
"Paris Photo was created in 1996 and is the most prestigious art fair dedicated to historical and contemporary photography. This fair takes place annually at the Grand Palais in Paris mid-November and at the Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles at the end of April.
Over the past 16 years, Paris Photo has become a significant event for collectors of contemporary and modern art, photography professionals, artists, as well as for an ever-growing audience of art appreciators. Each edition is unique and brings together a distinguished selection of exhibitors with diverse collections focused on the photographic medium. A public program is also an important component of the fairs which is built around cultural events involving artists, art world professionals, collectors, and cultural institutions.
Enriched by the unique cultural environment of these two cities, Paris Photo offers its visitors an unsurpassed experience in two historic locations which bring together all the different trends in photography."
