Mimosa For Smile on Saturday

Clear blue skies over Arundel Castle, West Sussex

A cloudy winter day, no more snow and the rain begins tonight. The bare trees soon will begin showing the first leaves of Spring.

Thanks for your visit and comments, much appreciated!

Here I did some experimenting with a shallow depth of field and its out of focus blur (aka bokeh), another feature usually absent from my photos.

Although the subject is trivial, I hope the result is interesting enough.

Bull Moose looking kind of silly, I think he is smiling as well! :)

I wandered into our neighbour's yard to get this shot. It is actually just a small yellow Arborvitae shrub, but with my vintage Pentacon AV 80mm lens (plus a 20mm Kenko extension tube), it turned into something completely different. I focused on a couple of the tiny branches, and was amazed at the bokeh. I think, right now, it's my favourite lens. But that could change :)

House sparrow on a twig bathing in sunlight. Happy Saturday!

Thank you for your visits, kind comments and faves!

All my macro shots are handheld.

No tripods.bug on a very small twig.

Enjoy!

While I patiently wait for the tulips, daffodils and hyacinths to bloom, I enjoy seeing the sun light up the bare branches of the Red Twig Dogwood. Happy Fence Friday.

Keeping my eyes open while walking the dogs. You never know.

it's hard to see, but there was still a coating of ice on each twig
