The mission consists of four identical spacecraft that will provide the first three-dimensional view of magnetic reconnection. Photo Credit: (NASA/Aubrey Gemignani)

And finally, to complete the Politics UK series, here's one from the archive... in my television days, I produced several programmes involving Harold Wilson (1916-95) – statistician, economist, politician, writer, and UK Prime Minister from 1964 to 1970, and 1974-76. Here am I briefing him in the Thames Television studio in Euston Road, London shortly before going 'live' on air in 1980.

Harold Wilson's principal 'trade-mark' was his pipe, which he always smoked in public – and even in this studio shot, that's what he's holding. He also carried with him a Ronson gas lighter, which made one helluva noise – and if he didn't care for the question, he'd ignite his lighter just inches from the microphone, and as he lit his pipe, the roar of the gas flame would all but drown out the interviewer's voice. But away from the studios and the photographers, he smoked (and preferred) cigars.

Got to tour the CBC Vancouver studios recently as part of their annual open house. Here's a black & white photo from that adventure - and I might make some more black & white photos too!

Must say as an American, I doubt in 12/2018 we'll see a major US Television Studio do the same anytime soon. Sadly we don't appreciate the press as much as Canada does and I'll leave it at that. At least I had my curiosity satisfied of what goes on in a TV Studio... and hopefully made some of the on-air folk feel genuinely appreciated for the hard & honourable work they do.

I went to see the newly renovated Johnson Building of the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. It's the third-largest public library in the United States, behind only the Library of Congress and the New York Public Library.

Built in 1882 to a design by Daniel Garlick. Dance studio from 1930s and then home to TV station NWS Channel 9.

Here's a black & white photo from a recent tour of the Vancouver CBC TV& Radio Studios. Why black & white? Because I like going black & white from time to time... Flickr album link is flic.kr/s/aHsmv29Pnn . Please enjoy this image responsibly, thanks!

Spongebob Squarepants squished against the window of Nickelodeon's offices / studio on Rathbone Place, London.

In the 1980s, I was a programme producer at Thames Television in London. In March 1980, Sir Dirk Bogarde - one of the finest British screen actors of all time - came in to discuss his first book, A Gentle Occupation.

Here we are in the studio, in animated conversation, and this is one of my favourite 'career' photographs. This book led to many others, and in his later life Bogarde retired from acting and became an outstanding memoir writer.

Bogarde was knighted in 1992, and died in 1999.
