Ramas de la inflorescencia aplicadas, con espiguillas desde cerca de la base; pedúnculos 1–2 mm, delgados; lemas fuertemente convolutos tras la antesis y separados unos de otros.

Pastizales terofíticos, en sitios secos, 0–1500 m.a. Circunmediterránea y atlántica, alcanzando el C de Europa. Extendida por todo el territorio. Ramas de la inflorescencia patentes, con espiguillas desde ½–1/3 inferior; pedúnculos 0,5–1 mm, gruesos; lemas no convolutos después de la antesis y prácticamente imbricados.

William Tutin Thomas (1829-1892) designed this Gothic Revival church which is a landmark in the Place du Canada in central Montreal. It was opened in 1870. A National Historic Site of Canada.

L'église anglicane Saint-Georges est située sur l'avenue des Canadiens à Montréal. Elle est de style néo-gothique et son architecte est William Tutin Thomas (1829-1892).
Ceratocapnos claviculata (L.) Lidén
Family: Papaveraceae
Taxanomy: There is no confusion over the identity of Climbing Corydalis, but it has suffered somewhat from nomenclatural issues. The correct name is Ceratocapnos claviculata (L.) Lidén but it is perhaps better known in Britain as Corydalis claviculata (L.) DC. (e.g. in Clapham, Tutin & Moore 1989) and it has also previously been known as Capnoides claviculata (L.) Kuntze. It is the only British member of the genus Ceratocapnos (Stace 1997).
Ecology: Ecological accounts for it are difficult to find. One of the most authoritative available is given by Sinker et al. (1985) in their account of it in Shropshire:
‘Open woodland and edges of dry peat mosses, persisting in grassland on previously wooded sites, on dry to damp sandy or peaty soils, PN poor base poor, acid, usually sheltered and half shaded to shaded but tolerates some exposure to sun. Poor competitor but sometimes abundant in disturbed parts of recently cleared plantations or woods, scrambling over tree stumps.’

Location: Wisley Common, Surrey (England)
This lowland heathland area is a very scarce habitat and supports a specific and unusual range of wildlife.
Wisley Common, along with Ockham and Chatley Heath, are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest in recognition of their importance for nature conservation. They are also part of a European Special Protection Area. The M25 cuts through the northern area of these open spaces and Wisley airfield provides a southern border.

This photograph was published in the Illustrated Chronicle on the 6th November 1916
During the Great War the Illustrated Chronicle published photographs of soldiers and sailors from Newcastle and the North East of England, which had been in the news. The photographs were sent in by relatives and give us a glimpse into the past.
The physical collection held by Newcastle Libraries comprises bound volumes of the newspaper from 1910 to 1925. We are keen to find out more about the people in the photographs. If you recognise anyone in the images and have any stories and information to add please comment below.
