And people think the internet killed music. Ha. It was actually when people stopped playing music live and let machines do it.
Now here's a story. I recently took my 20 year old Mercedes E Class for it's annual service and MOT and as I drove away from the house the car's acceleration felt odd. The garage who service the car said they couldn't find the cause of the problem as 'the car is too old for our diagnostic gear'!!! They recommended that I took the car to AF Tuning. When I arrived I found a garage that looked very 1960s but it had other Mercedes, Porsches and even an E Type in for attention. AT Tuning fixed the problem and allowed me to photograph the place at the same time. Amongst all the repair gear were computers being used to diagnose faults. They are able to tackle all sorts of models and problems. I recommend them.

“8-8 Is a Date to Create”
This almost has a rhyme to it, doesn’t it? If you’ve been waiting for a specific date to create something, your wait is over. On August 8th, we celebrate “The Date to Create,” an effort to put an end to procrastination and get your ball rolling on creating that one thing you’ve been meaning to take on. It could be just about anything you could dream up. All it takes is some imagination, a little know-how, and the resolve to do it. Can’t think of anything you can do just in a single day? No worries — August 8th can be the date you got started on that massive project you’ve been meaning to take on.
Some Stuff You Can Create
Stumped for ideas? That thing you can create doesn’t have to be a massive project. Just something you know you can do. Just think of the feeling of satisfaction you’ll get knowing you created something.
A new recipe. A lot of my favorite recipes started out as improvised ideas for using up holiday leftovers. With a little experimentation, you can get it exactly right and then share it with friends.
A quilt. If you’re into crafting, you probably have a lot of waste fabric laying around. You can turn that fabric into a quilt just by cutting it into evenly sized squares and making up your own pattern. Don’t need a new quilt? No problem. I’ve seen the quilts that the ladies in my church made out of leftover fabric for charity. Ask around to see who might be needing one.
A backyard science experiment. Got some kids who are curious about how something in the science world works? A homemade science experiment can be a good way to demonstrate basic scientific principles. Be sure to read up on how to do it safely and have some fun with it.
A garden. Okay, August 8th might be a little late to start an outdoor garden, but you can create an indoor vegetable garden with a few potted plants and a little cleverness. Grow root vegetables and herbs you can enjoy any time of the year. And you can start planning your outdoor garden for next year.
An Android app. If you’re good with code, you can create your own Android app. Sound daring? The genius behind “Angry Birds” created the original game just using his computer and the books he found in his college’s library. Who knows, you might create the next big app!
And don’t forget Legos! Imagine what you could create with a pile, or small pile or even a big pile, of the world’s favorite building bricks.

The Super Snipe II introduced in 1960 was restyled with a new grille and lavish use of wood and leather. All have servo front disc brakes.
The 1961-63 Series III was again restyled with quad head lights, and revised full-width grille. The suspension of the car had been considerably modified along with the car's floor structure which improved the car's high speed stability. The front of the car was redesigned to give a lower bonnet and longer nose to accomodate an additional pulley, mounted on the front of the crankshaft, that enabled air conditioning to be included as an option. The engine received improved bearings with a changed lubrication system and was given better cooling with a quieter fan. Seats were redesigned to give more leg space for back seat passengers.
The 1963-64 Series IV was launched at the October 1962 British Motor Show The rear window was changed to give the roof line an improved appearance. Engine output was now rated at 132.5 bhp (99 kW) bhp and the rear axle had been given a higher gear ratio. Manual gearbox cars received a new type of diaphragm clutch made by Borg and Beck and the petrol tank was enlarged from 12.5 to 16 gallons capacity
The final Series V version of the Saloon saw an upper body restyle with a flat roofline and rear window, six-light side windows and a larger, taller windscreen. Twin Zenith Stromberg 175CD carburettors were fitted along with a Harry Weslake tuned cylinder head, increasing the power to 137.5 bhp and syncromesh was fitted to all ratios. Hydrosteer power steering was available as an optional extra, as was an automatic transmission (Borg Warner Type 35 on Series Va), and metallic paint finishes.

A new twist on street theatre. These people were all tuned in to the artist who they followed around the streets of Bournemouth. Good fun to watch their reactions as he was constantly changing direction and clothes so they did not know who or where he was yet all the time he was talking to them.

I don't know if this woman was a passerby or this guy's auntie, but she was having a blast listening to his blues playing at full volume at Diversey, Clark and Broadway.
Every once in a while the photography gods smile on me. This shoot was one of those times. It was our first days under 100 degrees in weeks, the sky was overcast, not harsh bright lighting, and Sarah brought her A Game to the shoot. We last shot about two years ago, she went out exploring, came back into music and she looked even better. She brought her guitar and we started shooting. What a blast. I love when you have good chemistry with a model. We shot, joked, acted silly, shot some more, caught each other up on things, tried new locations, in shot some more. Sarah played the guitar and sang and people stopped to listen. What a fun shoot. We decided we won't wait another two years to shoot again. I took these photos at the Star River Walk Park in Star, Idaho in early August 2022. Sarah also encouraged me to try some new editing techniques - and I loved the result.

The Story

With the pressure and stress from studying recently, I decided to get away -literally. Molly, Jose, Munlika, Emily and I went camping at Big Big Basin Redwood State Park for two evenings.
I got off of work on Friday in the early evening, and went pick up Molly -then we were off to see the redwoods. Traffic wasn't too bad at all heading down there. On our way to Big Basin, we quickly drove through the quaint downtown area of Boulder Creek. By this time the sun had set, and our surroundings were immersed in darkness. Out past this downtown outcrop we had only the headlights on the car to guide us. This added a nice feel to the beginning of our camping trip.
Upon arrival, we met the other three in our party, Jose, Munlika, and Emily. Our first evening was spent huddled around the fire pit, because it was very cold. Being a sunset boy from San Francisco, I even had a hard time dealing with the chilly temperatures. A random but revelant tangent ... I completely neglected to pack a pair of pants -I only packed shorts, thinking [or not thinking rather] that the weather would work out for the better. I paid for my negligence. This entire trip the cold really bit hard.
That first evening we arrived, we turned in at about midnight for the evening. Our clothes smelled like campfire smoke, and it smelled great. But the night was just getting started for me ... coldest night I've ever had. Ever.
