227 / 365 : Feeling the Mood
Today was the last day of o-Bon Matsuri, an important moment of celebration of the dead people.
In the Japanese tradition, you return home to your family and celebrate with them all. For that reason, today Sapporo was surprisingly deserted: a lot of people went to the countryside and to all the small cities around here, and the good ol' Sapporo became slow and silent.
In the last of the three days of o-Bon it's tradition to pay visit to the graveyard to the family's ancestors and eat with them. Yes, EAT with them.
Knowing that, i couldn't resist and went to the graveyard hoping to get the chance to freeze one of those moments.. and i actually had the opportunity but... for some reason, it felt weird.
I was trying to take some photos, stealing a moment that is somehow spiritual for most of the people here.
So i decided not to take pictures of people today, and concentrate on the graves only, since it's in their honor that the event is...

26. July 2013: Today, I made stuff and spent 2 hours doing so. I got up at 7.30 am, checked my e-mails, wrote some e-mails, had cornflakes, had more cornflakes, slept a little more because I was really tired and exhausted. Then I got up again and tinkered these cute little thingies. I also went through another lecture in Et år i Norge (Norwegian).
Hope you guys had a nice day, too.

Unexpected call for an unexpected wedding kills your friday. Big time.
BUT, it also means free Saturday: i will finally catch up with the gorgeous streams of my fellow 365 companions and finally get some ME TIME to recover from the awesome birthday parties :)

Finally i got the chance to put my nose outside Sapporo!
Today i had a school-free day and i got invited by the photographer i'm training with to follow him all the way to Asahikawa, Hokkaido's second largest city, for a magazine photoshoot.
The shooting itself was pretty easy, we were taking pictures at an interview with a famous Japanese writer.
Bt the 2 hours on the way there and on the way back brought us to some interesting conversation that i deeply enjoyed... especially since finally i'm getting somewhere with my Japanese, today i was able to touch some difficult topics without bailing out from the conversation for total lack of vocabulary :)
Only downside? Nooo time to take pictures for the 365 project, except this one, shot during a SUPER QUICK visit to Asahigawa's temple just before starting the photoshoot.
And in 5 minutes i'm off to reahearsals with the always cool Sapporo Sound System!
Will be back at midnight so... no can do, you get this picture for today :)
Hope you guys are ready for a wicked weekend!!!

158 / 365 : FDT : Inside-Out™ Style
Happy Face Down Tuesday, you great folks all over the globe!
As i woke up this morning, i already knew what my Facedown photo would have been about!
I wanted to work around the theme of Inside-Out and i had a few rock'n'roll ideas for it but...
Life gets in the way, especially when you're 22, in another country, lazy, and tend to forget things: so turned out that instead of having a slow, relaxing tuesday, i struggled to get out of a crazy busy day at the end of which, i pretty much felt like fainting on my flat's front door and... Hey wait!
That's a great idea! CLICK.
There you go, Inside and Out of my apartment at the same time, with bonus bending the door feature! Hurray!
HFDT!
