217 / 365 : Corners
I realized, running through my photos, that i tend to try and put all of my subject in the photo, i never try to cut it out.
So tonight, going to the weekly rehearsals, i decided to cut in half my subject and try to re-compose the image without having them completely in... Well, not a success for sure :)
I'm not used to that kind of composition so i tend not to like it but, for some reason, i find this particular one to be not too bad...
What do you think?

Phone calls when you're that had never existed and does not receive the bad news so important. This is a new series based on images with antique objects that have changed our way of life. This time it is the phone that has increased a lot the communication.

Isn't working for the Sapporo Beer brand stand in the Sapporo Beer sponsored Rising Sun Rock festival in Sapporo... a little redundant? :)
First day it's gone, was awesome but also tiring as hell!
Especially since you spend all day in the Sapporo Beer Star Lounge, very close to the main stage, taking pictures of customers enjoying their icy cold delicious beer in the summer heat while you can't have any (it's not europe where you can drink and get free stuff while you work T.T )!
A great experience for sure and i can't wait to do it again tomorrow...
Only downside? Sandstorm the whole day... now my camera makes weeeeird sounds :(
So, this is a view of the stand and adjacent star lounge i was working in and will be working tomorrow... The sun had just set and i thought those lights in the sky would have made a very cool photo!

Un’arte antica tramandata di padre in figlio che si ricollega all’artigianato di tutto il mondo.
Viene preparata la materia prima, posta sul tornio per farne la forma. L’oggetto ottenuto è poi lasciato asciugare. Solo dopo viene infornato. Alla fine c’è il figulinaio preposto alla decorazione. Al suo fianco tanti vasetti colorati e pennelli. Con pazienza, seduto alla sua sedia, tratto dopo tratto, decora piatti e altri oggetti con fiorellini, greche, galletti e altro ancora.

210 / 365 : My New Favorite Thing
I am the kind of guy that grows affection to items, especially when they represent a memory of a far away friend.
Last year i met Dave-The-Roommate™ while i was on a short study course here in Sapporo with my best friend SIo (you haven't forgotten Sio have you?! )
A few days before leaving, i was on out on a walk with Sio and we decided to buy 3 bracelets, same shape but different colors, and to wear one each and to give the third one to David.
From that moment on, we crafted a special sound that goes like " na na naaaa" for everytime out bracelets met. It was a small stupid thing but when you give 3 idiots the opportunity to be randomly noisy for no reason, fun times are a certainty :)
Long story short, we kept those bracelets to symbolize the bond of the 3 of us but, unfortunately, i lost mine on a drunken night near the sea in Venice, i i felt kind of ashamed from that moment on.
BUT Dave-The-Roommate™ was so kind to leave his own bracelet to me, on his way to the airport.
Definitely, my new favorite thing.
Worth a photo, especially when it's 5 minutes to midnight, i work in the morning tomorrow and i just got back from the first live gig with my band (that was a complete success!)
Dead tired, going to sleeeeep!

213 / 365 : The Back Alley
For some weird reason, this photos looks terrible when i look closely and looks awesome whenever i step away from the monitor. Meh...
Anyhow, i went on a superlong bike ride today, i wanted to find a place i've seen in some friend's Sapporo pictures and that, for no particular reason, i was able to avoid till now.
Unbelievable as it might sound, being exactly in between four different areas of Sapporo that i visit almost on a daily basis, i managed not to stumble upon it in these 4 months. Till today.
The place it's awesome, and i have an idea for a photo that might be perfect for the location...
Oh, wait, did you think the place i'm talking abut is the one in the photo? Nah!
This is a back alley, usually closed with a small iron gate to prevent public to get into the adjacent shop's bike park but today, for some reason it was open.
And for me, it was such a surprise to realize how much such a small detail could totally change the way i perceived the space around there.
Had to try and take that atmosphere home. It0s not the best photo, for sure, but somehow it still summons that moment to me.

A rapid shot in one of the place we hit tonight during our 飲み会, or "drinking meeting" if you want.
It's nice to celebrate the end of a season work with the co-workers from another job... (read: for no reason)
I had a great night, and i have to say: it's been just four months (and Dave-the-roommate™ today left JAPAN for good, he was in tokyo till now) but i have to admit, i got the chance to meet, work and hang around with some REALLY COOL people.
I'm lucky :)
And i like the fact that i know it!

But nevertheless, what's magical about this epic EPIC day is that, no matter what you'll shoot, it'll look fantastic since, as the wise FaceDown Hermit® once said : "If you lay down somewhere on a Tuesday and take a photo of it, it shall be freaking awesome". So be it. Amen.
