A loaded MGR heads for Didcot Power station behind 60088 Buachaille Etive Mor at Culham
New to BR in January 1992, 60088 was allocated to Mainline on privatisation in 1994 and hence found its way to EWS in 1996. A year of on/off storage in 2004/5 became permanent in September 2005 and I don't think number 88 has worked since. Still in storage at Toton, it is likely its only future destination is the scrap yard - only 13 years in service and then 10 more in storage - what a waste

Henry loves playing tug with it, and then giving it a good shake so all the "legs" fly around. :)

Henry LOVES playing tug.
Not Tug-of-War, as that would imply winners and losers.
No, Henry just wants to perform the act of tugging.
And he kinda needs you to help, as Zachary has Zero interest in the game.
Keep away, maybe, but definitely not tug.
Our first golden, Beau, also loved tug and I have no doubt that he and Henry would have had a blast playing together.
This is a plain old bath towel, my tug toy of choice.
It gives him something "meaty" to sink his teeth into, while being soft on the human hands.
Somewhat counterintuitively, you're better off holding the towel close to his muzzle than given yourself a "safe distance".
That's because he tries to "move up" the towel with his mouth if there's room to do so. Once he's reached your hands, there's nowhere else to go and he settles to tugging.

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing how happy playing tug makes the pup.
I just try really hard to NOT think about what his claws are doing to the hardwood floor.

Another view of the Tug Boat I posted earlier. This is shot from across the river when the ice was too thin to walk on.

She loves it, I hate it!
Molly is such a strange dog - she's recently developed a phobia of her own back garden. 2 weeks ago she would play non stop there and then all of a sudden she couldn't even be lured out with her favourite treats and a game of fetch. I was just about to call our dog trainer when I bought a few cheap toys from pound land and I finally got her out there.
She's still not completely comfortable but I gotta take what I can and be happy with it I suppose.
I'm in absolute shock that in a little over 2 weeks I will be celebrating the 3 year anniversary of adopting Jess - Where does the time go? I can't believe how fast this has all gone!

Felixstowe Tug Boats 'Deben' and 'Trimley' are seen moared up alongside the Quay at the Port of Felixstowe.
17th July 1993
On 04/06/20, reports started surfacing that DB 60092 was in bother at Tamworth on the 6E54 Kingsbury OT to Humber OR tanks. The tug apparently had "glowing wheels", which was reported and the fire brigade had to attend. It blocked the down line at Tamworth High Level for most of the afternoon, until a 1Z99 rescue loco was sent from Toton in the form of EWS/DB 66053. I went to Chellaston to see the loco - only the second 1Z99 I've ever seen. It attached and the ensemble passed me at Barrow on Trent (see later photos) some 4 hours late. The train then went to Toton, where presumably the tug was detached and the shed ran round before departing towards Nottingham; it passed Beeston South Jn 337 mins late.
