When I built my own 8-wide Maersk locomotive more than three years ago, I intended to build a few cars to go with it. I even started gathering parts for them, but it took me until now to finally build them.
(I'm currently under a bit of stress and that does tend to stimulate a lot of building.)

The end of a long journey that began after seeing this picture. I'd never heard of a BB40-9WM; it's basically a C40-9, but modified for meter gauge rails in Brazil. The B+B - B+B truck configuration allows for tight curves and gets the axle loading down to around 20T per axle. These beasts are custom built for Vale Mining in Brazil, but they're built in Pennsylvania. This is how they move to the coast for shipment to Brazil. I picked the new Vale paint scheme, because before this build, I had 2 pieces of dark turquoise. I'd rather not add up how many BL orders it took to finish this build.
Scania NG R520 YD18 TTX with David Baarda trailer (maybe an addition to the fleet?) passes David Baarda DAF XF on other carriageway, A63 Everthorpe, East Yorkshire 21-04-18.

My Railroad Secret Santa this year was Erwin. He's a fantastic builder, so I was excited to see what he sent over even before I could open the box.
Inside was a pink 53' "On Track for a Cure" TTX well car and a couple of Intermodal containers to go with it. The pink car is very striking and it's sure to stand out (Erwin informed me he does not like building in "Normal" colors - I can certainly appreciate that!).
I also love both the containers he sent along, especially the brick-built lettering on the Evergreen container. I've already spent some time looking at both the well car and the containers and I'm sure to spend much more doing so.
I've taken the car for a quick test run with my BNSF SD40-2 and my own TTX well car set - it fits in very well with them.

The end of the line...is near for many TTX cars and NS motive power at Cresson Steel. In the foreground, many TTX cars await the scrappers torch, while a small group of NS C40-8s are being salvaged for reusable parts before meeting a similar fate.
