In late March 1995, TTX Company rented an 11-car set of Santa Fe business car for employees to tour the western United States and witness railroad operations. The train departed Chicago on March 31st, beginning a 9-day journey ending in Chicago on April 8th.
The routing was from Chicago via the Santa Fe (Raton Pass) to Los Angeles, and north to Richmond by way of Tehachapi.
UP took over from there, routing the train via Feather River Canyon east to Salt Lake City, Ogden, and through Wyoming.

Photographer Frank Christoph was shooting from the top of the signal mast for this interesting perspective. I believe this train was east bound on the Nickle Plate RR.
Built in July 2025, this two month old TBOX boxcar is spotted on the New Dock, Track 826, adjacent to the Kansas City West Bottoms Railroad's State Line Yard. The blue roller bearing caps still pop and the entire car still looks fresh as well without a lick of graffiti, which it will undoubtedly fall victim to in the near future. 9/30/25.
