Whilst staying on a farm near Guardiagrele, Abruzzo, in the foothills of the snow-capped Maiella Mountain, with uninterrupted views to the Adriatic Sea, we were invited to walk through the field where the truffles grew. Shot with a B&W IR 5D2.

I may be wrong but I think these are False Truffles, I keep finding little holes in the ground up the wood, when I investigated them I found these about 2cm deep, some half eaten, what would eat this? possibly squirrel?
PAT: " Wow! I recognize that cat! It's from the movie "Flow!""
OTIS: " Yeah.....our neighbors, the Latvians, won an Oscar for that movie and now they've made these chocolate truffles too! They look delicious...I'll take one!"
ODESSA: " Oh, no, Otis! We're not eating them! We're sending them to our Australian friends...Paddy and Jesse have a birthday!"

The original reciepe was Red Velvet, but i didn't find any of the ingredients, so i made my own Vanilla truffles, luckily it was successful! I thought it would be a mess to be honest so i tried so hard to make them look good at least =P

A recent truffle hunt resulted in some prize finds.
I learned that here in Australia we have around 300 native truffle species, but this is Tuber melanosporum, the black Périgord truffle, native to southern Europe.
Black truffles are associated with oaks, hazelnut, cherry and other deciduous trees and are harvested in late autumn and winter.
The round, subterranean fruiting bodies (ascocarps) have a black-brown skin with small pyramidal cusps. They have a strong, aromatic smell and normally reach a size of up to 10 cm.

Indiana Railroad's SAHW Manifest out of Indianapolis, bound for Jasonville, shuffles over Shuffle Creek near Lake Lemon and Unionville powered by a pair of their pristine SD9043MACs. Today's train would have to wait at Switz City for a couple hours awaiting the arrival of counterpart HWSA so the two crews can swap and head back toward their respected terminals.

P40 Warhawk at the Nut Tree Airfield, Vacaville, California...
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American single-engine, single-seat, all-metal fighter-bomber that first flew in 1938. It was the third most-produced American fighter of World War II, after the North American P-51 Mustang and Republic P-47 Thunderbolt; by November 1944, when production of the P-40 ceased, 13,738 had been built, all at Curtiss-Wright Corporation's main production facilities in Buffalo, New York...
I'm really happy with how this turned out! :)
Random update: I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to figure out how my dislocated shoulder is healing... Hopefully I'll be able to take off my sling soon!
