happibug custom #201, originally a Cherry Beach Sunset. When I first got her with her lovely light colored hair and tan I thought she would make an adorable custom, and I loved the color of her stock lips with her tan, so I used similar shades. She's a golden, sun-kissed girl!

This deliciously rich brown, funky, yet elegant, cuff was bead-embroidered around three beautiful Swarovski Jet Nut Button Rivolis. The buttons are surrounded by Bronze-lined Crystal and Bronze Japanese seed beads and Deep Brown Swarovski pearls. This centrepiece is attached to the Ultrasuede-covered brass cuff which is trimmed and embellished with the Japanese seed beads.
The centre piece measures 4” by 2” (c. 10 x 5 cm), the cuff itself is 2” (c. 5 cm) wide and fits all sizes.
These are actually so much easier then you think! Give them a dry. Or the Oreo Truffles on my blog are to die for!!

These are the truffles we made the other day. It was a first time for me, and the recipe came out well. There were three kinds: cocoa, coconut, and almonds. Sinfully delicious.
The Lindt chocolate museum in Cologne, Germany, has a number of machines which demonstrate the chocolate making process.
To make a truffle, the chocolate paste is poured into the lowest section of a spherical mould with a pouring vessel and is then enclosed by the upper section. To ensure hat no chocolate can escape from the closed mould it is secured in a vice. This vice is rotated on its axis in every direction on a centrifuge. This causes the chocolate paste to spread over the wall of the mould creating a uniform chocolate shell.
In the second stage, after cooling, the fledgling truffles receive their high quality filling. Finally the filling hole is sealed with chocolate. The truffle balls are then passed via a conveyor belt to a machine which coats them with chocolate. Finally, prior to the last cooling stage, a counter-rotating wire mesh gives them their prickly texture. Voila!
Not my best effort–truffle was not smooth enough for piping the decoration–but the taste is good.

I recently got given a vintage suitcase & Essex miniature sewing machine from my Mum's cousin, Ian.
Ellis & Truffles helped me clean & thread up the sewing machine & are now demanding miniature merit badges. O_o;
I redrafted this pattern for a better fit. Blogged here: threadcarefully.wordpress.com/2012/05/02/my-colette-truff...

This is also one of my favorite Halloween Fiestaware plates!
It is done!
I had originally picked up more stitches than I needed to along the back so that the back became really wide and floppy. To remedy this, after I was done with everything, I picked up some stitches along where my lower spine natural bends and created something like the band behind trench coats to help cinch it some. This worked wonderfully and the body now feels fitted. I must thank knitrawr for her extremely helpful notes and photos. The sleeves are very fitted to help relieve some of the bulkiness of the yarn weight. There are two buttons along the collar purely for decoration. Like knitrawr, I used snaps (8 of them) along the button band. This yarn has wonderful stitch definition, however, in retrospect, I would have opted for a yarn that knits up to a slightly more drapey fabric. Oh well, I can't complain too much, acrylic/20% wool is easy to care for. My husband shot these photos of me while I modeled the cardigan during San Jose Japantown's Obon festival. People looked at me like I was loony for being the only person to wear a big sweater in 85 degree temperature!
Miniature white and milk chocolate truffles and other miniature foods. I am really happy with the way the detail came out on the chocolates. I used liquid sculpty and mixed it with polymer clay in a plastic bag. Cut a hole in the bag an piped it just like real truffles. The other truffles are covered with brown colored chalk pastels.
