Big Horn Sheep are native to Washington State but disappeared in the 1930s. In 1957, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife brought California Bighorn Sheep from British Columbia and placed them in Okanogan County and in 1967 more were brought into the Cleman Mountain area. Recent surveys indicate that there are approximately 650 California bighorns throughout Washington State and the population is increasing. Both rams and ewes grow horns that are not shed but continue to grow throughout the animal's life

This Horse Trough now serves as a flower planter in Richmond Park, Gainsborough. It was originallly in the town centre right up until the early 1950s where, as the plaque on the side says, it served "man's faithful friend, the horse".

Back to Sunday and my exercise walk from the village at lunchtime.
These are of Hall Hill troughs just up the hill from the Country Store.
They form part of the 16th Century water system - one of the earliest in the country. You can find out more if you zoom in on the green sign the previous shot
A large piece of government land in Austin is slated for redevelopment. The Grove will make space for apartments, shops and offices. Lucas and I visited the area to capture the special charm of decay before demolition and construction commence.
Went to buy a Yorkshire range near Levisham ("you'll easily find it, it's the only house in the village with the roof burnt off") and were announced by the guard geese who were having a nice splash in an old pig-scalding trough.

James took this picture for me when he said there was a urinal trough in the men's room. Since I had no idea what one looked like, he ran back in and took it.
