Working on that scrap pile and making trivets! I tried some loopy quilting, a break from my beloved stippling.
6" x 6" tile by Massachusetts artist Michael Cohen. His tiles are notched to hang on the wall, or can be used as trivets in the kitchen.
The inner patchwork is a smaller version of the cover pattern by Auyumi Takahashi from the Sweet Trips Embroidery Pouch in her book Patchwork, Please! The navy is Essex linen and the patchwork is liberty cottons with an Architextures print for background. The trivet is a 10.5" square and has insulbright batting in it to protect the table from hot bowls, teapots, and such.

A beautiful, antique hand-carved rosewood trivet made in India with a decorative grape leaf design. It measures 12" across and 1 1/2" high. The top is one solid piece of rosewood.
I'll take kitchenware for 500 Alex.

Did you know that was the technical name for hot pads? I didn't. Well, now I do.
It's made from recycled wine corks, that I painstakingly sawed in half and glued to a hand decorated frame.
