While waiting for a connecting flight, saw this outside the building. It's like a moment of quietness in a busy airport.
I just went to the ARSC (Association of Recorded sound conference in Baltimore and had an hour to kill waiting for the commuter train back to DC. Baltimore is one of the most photogenic cities in the country. This is a classic sign in chrome!
For the past 20 years running I've made at least one trip to Death Valley National Park, usually in the Spring. This past Spring I went someplace else. All year it bugged me that I missed going in 2023 for my 21st consecutive year.
So, about 10 days ago, I decided to drop everything and head up to the park. My trip is usually between 7 to 10 days. This one will be much shorter, just 4 nights. But that's OK. I feel good about getting up there before year's end and missing out.
I'll be meeting up with my friend, Curt (4Durt here on Flickr). His mother photoshopped this photo and sent it to me some years ago. She stuck my face on the old miner. Pretty funny!
If you'll notice, I put a giant "Flickr Note" on the photo. That is the original size of the photo that was sent. I brought the photo back into Photoshop and used "Generative Fill" to expand the photo and add all the new data not in the original. I did nothing except click a couple of buttons. Photoshop did everything else - added the shadow, the mountain, trees, etc. Even got the color and DOF correct. Pretty impressive!
I'd add this photo to the Flickr map, but I don't want to discloce the location of my gold clain.
Leaving Tuesday morning, back late Saturday.
At last our travel retractions have been lifted so today I'm going on a Trip Out to see my daughters and visit the heddon Valley in Devon. Trip Out is by British Sea Power
We got on old trains. The tickets were non-magnetic, and non-thermal printed! No ticket vending machines, no automatic gates at the stations. How exciting!
感熱印刷の磁気きっぷじゃなくて、活字の印刷きっぷを駅員さんから手渡しで買いました。駅には自動券売機も自動改札もありません。乗るときは、硬いきっぷにちょきんと鋏を入れてもらいます。
