Before the seasonal Rocky Mountaineer trips between Denver and Moab, Utah, begin on April 16, the company is running three training/familiarization runs over the route. Today, March 28, 2023, the first training trip is shown returning to Denver at mile 14.5 on Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision. This location is just west of Leyden siding. RMRX engines 8020 and 8021 power the 10-car train. Photo by Joe McMillan, 3:27 p.m., 45 degrees.

For Thomas, self-realization in the larger story calls for a reinvention of ourselves as participating in our genetic relatedness to Earth, as well as in the material elements of the universe. The challenge that Thomas himself underwent by integrating cultural and evolutionary history became his prophetic call. He called humans back from a hyper-individualism trapped in a use-relationship with an objectified, dead world. The three mediations evident in the cultural historical record inspired him to call for a communion experience with the Earth community as continuing the emergence of the universe.

Cowes is an English seaport town and civil parish on the Isle of Wight. Cowes is located on the west bank of the estuary of the River Medina, facing the smaller town of East Cowes on the east bank. The two towns are linked by the Cowes Floating Bridge, a chain ferry.

It's Spring here in New Zealand... that means road trip time! Cameras are charged and drones are nearly self-aware. All is good.
This is a stretch of US 60 between Socorro, NM and Springerville, AZ. I took a series of photos through the windshield with my trusty Canon S90 (I wasn't driving at the time!). This is a favorite because it really portrays that section of NM.
I'm about to take a photo road trip across New Zealand for 3-4 weeks to visit new and old places, especially now that we have no one in the hospital with Covid-19 and five days with no new cases. It seems pretty safe to explore. I'll start here in Wanaka and meander my way up to the North Island. My plan is to visit little nooks and crannies all the way that I've never seen... from the fjords up to everything from volcanoes to black sand beaches. I've loaded up about 10 audiobooks and will probably be offline for a while.
The perfect antidote to urban living: an extended country drive. Ideally, travelling on roads that are designated "No Winter Maintenance". Which means no summer maintenance either
