I didn't see the octopus at first, til it started changing colors. My first octopus in the wild that I've ever seen with my own two eyes!! I was excited, so I tracked as long as I could.

you can see the trigger (in the left foreground of the flower) set and ready to dab some pollen on an insect's back - if you're clever enough you can fool the flower with a sliver of grass - it's very quick once it gets set off.

Some "curves" boosting was needed to retrieve shadows which should have been filled... One old flashgun on low power behind subject high up camera left, another high up camera right. Radio triggers.

Total cop out today. Very busy and long day in the office. Racked up 12 hours today. No time to pull out the camera.
However, my wireless flash trigger arrived in the mail today, so at least I have something to play with on the weekend.
