The Gibbons family are very active and quite tricky to capture their personality with all the ongoing antics! I think I lucked out for a second with this closeup as he was just not three feet away from me! (I can't believe I got this shot!!! And this is a member of the troop that sits away from all the antics of the other members of his family)

Something tricky this way comes...

It seems hard to believe, but this was one of the more difficult descents on our trip! This wide track consisted of stones and a kind of gravel and was very steep in many places. I really had to watch out at every step I took, because the risk of losing your balance was there all the time.

Okay, I wouldn't have fallen very dangerously, but I didn't feel like twisting an ankle on one of the first days of my journey.

A tricky morning's shoot suddenly burst into life at sunrise...where to stand?...how to compose??...do I need to bracket?? (yes)...will it be too bright once the sun rises??....Is the composition too messy? (yes)....etc...but on the whole a wonderful place to be whatever happens.

Shooting through chain link fence... always tricky

This is the descent down swirral edge from Helvellyn, it is steep and the path/pebbles are very slippy...my knees are still cursing me!! The peak in the distance at the edge of the ridge is Catstye Cam

Yes, Dickey Falls is the actual name of this falls!! It was tough to capture as I had to stop on the side of the highway and walk down the bank to a clearing and shoot from across the river. This was the clearest shot I could get. I shot some up closer but liked the way the hill crossed in the foreground and kind of led you into the falls. The close up was just rock and water. Kris.

This little one had a hard time swallowing this feather. It’s parent even tried to feed it another one, but that didn’t work.

A tricky path leads along the river to this big, powerful falls. A lot of spray around limits how close you can get. It makes a good trip in dodgy weather.

Tricky customers these, they feed on the nectar of tubular flowers on the wing. Never seen one settle & actually stay still, & today was also a very breezy day making for difficult photography. Quite pleased with how this one has turned out & only my second attempt at photographing them.

A short interruption to come back to 2023. Here is a Brown Thrasher, the first time I remember getting a clear photograph of one. Filmed at the Cruickshank Sanctuary. This one was not at all tricky to glimpse as it was singing in this dead tree. Yes I was shocked to see it and wasn't sure with the ID until I got home. I checked eBird and there have been many sightings and 12 photos posted from Cruickshank of the Brown Thrasher. Of course, I was there to see the Florida Scrub Jay, some of the few remaining live in Cruickshank scrub. I'll get back to that shortly.

From Cornell -

It can be tricky to glimpse a Brown Thrasher in a tangled mass of shrubbery, and once you do you may wonder how such a boldly patterned, gangly bird could stay so hidden. Brown Thrashers wear a somewhat severe expression thanks to their heavy, slightly downcurved bill and staring yellow eyes, and they are the only thrasher species east of Texas. Brown Thrashers are exuberant singers, with one of the largest repertoires of any North American songbird.

We visited Birdland at Bourton on the water. It was a hot day and the Snowy Owls were finding it tricky to stay cool!

The minions had never ever not even once thought that eyeballs were candy until they heard a group of people speaking appreciatively about eye candy.

It was decided on the spot.

They frantically surfed the dark web and found a crew with a truck who eagerly agreed to collect and deliver every single eyeball they could find.

Don't ask.

So this year for Halloween, the minions are passing out eye candy to all the trick or treaters.

The trick or treaters are passing out.

I thought today's theme was a bit too tricky but late sunshine, my iPhone and a local walk proved me wrong....

I'm showing you what's possible with an old, broken emergency laptop and Gimp (my main computer died) so photography in SL isn't impossible, just more...challenging. I crashed several times trying to take this as my potato objected to the shadows.

Its actually a great week for RPers in SL - Fantasy Fair is now open with many sims to explore. Several of the Engine Room creators are present too.

This image is from Day two with the Boreal Owl that we had discovered among thick cover of densely packed small trees, a tricky find to be sure. We had been with her for a few minutes, quietly photographing, when she revealed to us a vole that she or he had tucked up underneath her feathers to warm enough to eat from. We had apparently discovered her on this day while she ( or he) was visiting a cache of food...What a SWEET looking creature!!! This was a lifer for me and what a terrific opportunity to be able to photograph it at eye level and with food!!

Tricky trying to get on this beach this year, thick silt in places, so you have to take great care where you walk. my favourite boat on this vast sandy beach.
