i am perfecting my hula tricks. thank goodness i had a five year old in the yard who was willing to press the shutter.
My norwegian neighbour, originally American, every year makes delicious pumpkin and sesame seeds biscuits to be given to children when coming to ask for a trick or treat. She usually brings us some every year

Here are our two "masterpieces", putting on their best Halloween smiles for all to enjoy. Of course, we just had to light them up to make sure our handywork passed the Fun test.
Every year my sister and I throw a Backyard Harvest Fest for our backyard visitors. We each carve one jack-o-lantern to be used as a "giant" Goodie Bowl filled with yummy treats.

I am still enjoying the yupo paper as it forces me to work more loosely. Mums are everywhere just now, and I really do prefer the white ones to any other colour. The trick is to see other colours within them.

Funny story about that gator, he photobombed my shot! I took several pictures after he did, but just kept laughing at this one, so in he stayed. Best. Photo. Bomb. Ever.
On the third attempt, I finally got Ivatt 41298 at Deacons lane in the sun, what a treat!! But wait, what`s that stupid orange thing on the front of the train? It`s that annoying pumpkin headboard, and there was no sign of it all week until this point. I really had been tricked here. I will have to try AGAIN next visit.......

It's no trick and all treat on the H-DILNTW1-30A as it begins the final 40-ish miles of it's journey on a chilly Halloween (temps in the mid-30s).

Trick or Treat - European Garden Spider nails a yellowjacket in her web outside my window. This particular spider showed amazing proficiency and caught 4 yellowjackets in about 45 minutes. For some reason after one was caught and wrapped the others would investigate as if to try to help or attack the spider but get caught and meet the same fate. A fifth wasp tried the same but managed to escape after getting briefly tangled.
These spiders are also known as "Pumpkin Spiders" and are a lot of fun to observe. It's great having a lens that doubles as a near macro lens - makes some fun shots possible when I'm busy at home and can't get out. Wishing a safe and happy halloween to all and hope you enjoy many treats like this spider did!
