This Blue-faced Honeyeater is only too happy to jump and catch tossed crickets out of the air at ZooTampa.
With the cooler weather I am starting to think about Halloween. This male American Redstart is wearing the colors of the season. Adult males are black with bright orange wings, tail, and sides. These little warblers are much smaller and more active than their black and orange counterparts, the Baltimore Orioles.
This holiday season is so unbelievably busy that I'm still finding a backlog of photos to edit such as this one.
I was out for a walk around Hastings with my new Fujifilm X10 when I stumbled across this guy doing tricks on his BMX. He was pretty good with some awesome moves - and he looked about my age - here’s to not growing old! Also I loved the shadows cast by the sun shades on the side of the college buildings. This was my first ‘proper’ time out with the X10. It can’t match my Canon EOS 6D for resolution but for a tiny small sensor camera it’s great! So small and light and discreet. Hoping it’ll make street shots a little easier.

My Mother died in 1996 and she was quite the seamstress. She made this little gem for one of the boys way back when ever. It is 1 1/2 inches in diameter and has a pin on the back and you can pin on your clothing at Halloween. Always makes me smile........
