Students perform during the 110th Gymnastics Exhibition Show at Blake Arena at Springfield College on Friday, October 25, 2019.. The Gymnastics Exhibition show is one of the longest-standing traditions at Springfield College and in western Massachusetts.

This is a simple module based on 60 degree geometry. 3 Modules are assembled and each module is folded from 7.5cm square of Korean Duo-coloured papers. This model was created on 6th. January 1995 and left in a box of "Not yet diagrammed" models...Now still no diagrams yet but I will do something about it...later.

Cut out myriad triangles out of my "visual journal" on 5 pages, each page with another iteration of the fractal.

0st page - Cut 1 trangle, result 1 triangle

1nd Page -Cut 3 triangles (resulting in 5)

2rd Page - Cut 9 trianges (resulting in 14)

3th page - Cut 27 triangles (resulting in 41)

4th page - Cut 81trianges (resulting in 122)

Equation 3^n =Cut

Also, I noticed that if you add the result of the previous page with the current "cut" number, you get the result of the current page...

Went "Jingle-bloody-jangle"

after folding daniel kwan's triangle pattern 1 I wanted to do his triangle pattern 2, too, of course. it's funny and interesting how these patterns are structurally very similar although they look very different.

looking at daniel's original cp was pretty discouraging, though. most of the creases (say about 80%) lay against the grid lines. so, a lot of extra precreasing... :-/

but then I thought: "why not rotate the whole pattern by 30°...? then about 80% of the crease would be along the grid. of course, I'd also need to scale the pattern....." so I did and behold: the whole thing became quite foldable. it's still a bit weird to execute because in the intermediate stages the paper won't really collapse flat.

as in the triangle pattern 1 the model becomes a bit dull when not backlit, so I didn't take pictures of that. see daniel's original picture below for that.

Friday seems a popular day for broken down vehicles.

Friday 23 May 2014 was no exception.

Access to whatever the man in blue overalls is working on looks tricky (he is under the elevated cabin mudguard).

Nice to see the Warning Triangle in action.

The Highway code says:

"Put a warning triangle on the road at least 45 metres (147 feet) behind your broken-down vehicle on the same side of the road, or use other permitted warning devices if you have them. Always take great care when placing or retrieving them, but never use them on motorways"

It sure was crazy sewing and cutting this many triangles.

So the triangles that point up have to start slightly below the triangles that point down in order for the seam allowance to work out and the points not to disappear when you sew the rows together. For some reason this took me a while to figure out so I've documented it here in case anyone else has the same trouble.

love how this triangle motif turned out on this linen bag

Custom design bed. This bed is made from teak wood. It is simple, clean style with a triangle carving as headboard.

Triangle Lake is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is about 25 miles (40 km) west of Junction City on Oregon Route 36, on the southwest side of the lake of same name. Lake Creek, a tributary of the Siuslaw River, enters and exits the lake.[2] Triangle Lake is closely linked to the unincorporated community of Blachly, on the northeast side of the lake, and the two communities share the K-12 Triangle Lake School, the only school in Blachly School District.

The 293-acre (1.19 km2) lake has had various names over the years, including Loon Lake, Lake of the Woods, and Echo Lake, but the name Triangle Lake (after the lake's shape) became the official name in the early 1900s. Before Fern Ridge Reservoir was completed in 1941, the lake was the most popular local spot for water sports.

Amenities at Triangle Lake County Park include two picnic tables, a boat dock, and toilets. Activities at the lake include boating, swimming, and fishing.

Fish species in the lake, which reaches a depth of 90 feet (27 m), include largemouth bass, bluegill, yellow perch, brown bullhead, kokanee, and cutthroat trout. The kokanee, landlocked sockeye salmon, thrive in the deep water, while good bass habitat is found along the south and east shores.

This design was inspired from an antique quilt my parents had when I was growing up. It's made with scraps and unbleached muslin. I stuffed this pillow-- next time I'll make a sham because I hated stitching shut the opening and did it poorly. For the back of the pillow, I used a brown pindot fabric. The pillow measures 14 by 14 inches.
