Tree cut to clear the trail reminded me of Charlie Brown when I first saw it. What do you think?

When at my parents' house for Christmas, I found the one and only lunchbox I had when I was a kid, now uncool and rusting. Never really needed it (I successfully avoided eating school food in other ways), but I did use it every day at camp one summer.

We had a nice walk this afternoon along the Governor's Rail Trail. Even though it's a fairly regular route for us, today was the first time we had noticed this particular tree trunk. It had been long ago wrapped by some vine which resulted in an unusual growth pattern.

This is a work of art hidden in the woods near Apeldoorn.

(Artist: Marinus Boezem / Year: 1999 / Title: Cathedral /

Description: The title refers to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Reims. The bronze treetrunks mark the lay-out of this church.)

Beware! Not easy to find. No signs. Not accessible by car.

By bike or on foot:

From the Apeldoorn - Nieuw Milligen road (Amersfoortseweg) turn right just before restaurant Echoput. This is a path leading to Elspeet. After 2 km, at the crossing, turn right (direction of Wenum Wiesel). After a few hundred meters, take the first path to the left. Then look for the trunks on your right.

A picture of a tree trunk, it sort of looks like its how an ant would see it. Taken with my canon sx500is.

The trunk of this tree makes me think of a twirly dress that a ballroom dancer would wear.

This photo shows the subject hopping from tree trunk to tree trunk. It brings out the child in the subject by showing her preform something in a playful manner.
