For Our Daily Challenge
12 - 18 March
A dead tree trunk has been left in upright position in an area of managed woodland, I assume for insects and other wildlife to make it their own as it gradually decays. I was struck by the beautifully layered colours of the wood in degrees of deterioration.
This is specialy dedicated to my flickr friend Karen. A few days ago she posted a very deep and true little text about old photos on her FB page. And the importance of having them in a material form. She is so right. Machines don't last for ever, programs become obsolete, websites no longer exist.... This is the case for example for this free design. The company no longer exists. I was so happy to have found it in my mess. A few yeas ago, i din't have a computer. So i use to print the designs i found on the internet. If i haven't printed it, i would only have the little embroidery i made thanks to it. But the paper survived the website. Thanks again Karen for sharing your thoughts and lovely photos.

Really crappy day at work. Thank goodness for my one good friend at work or I would go crazy. I'm also thankful I have my photography and all you great people on Flickr, especially my 365 group.
Fun with details today in the root cellar, exterior lantern, chandelier and bunny burrow :).

This is one tree with many trunks, kind of like the Banyon trees I saw in Florida, but more compact.
