This dark morph Gray Squirrel, slowly crawled down this old tree and seemed to defy gravity.

I guess I should just come out of the closet and admit that I'm a TreeHugger...it's been plaguing me for years and it feels good to get it out in the open. This is another one of those instances when everyone goes home after the sun goes down and to me this is the best light of the day. Enjoy your weekend my friends.

Me in one of my favourite trees. Went out taking photos this afternoon but didn't get many because it started to drizzle and the light was bad. We were going to walk as far as the Ryde Queen (rusting hulk of an old paddle steamer) but one of the footpaths was so flooded we couldn't go any further. Just as well because the drizzle turned into heavy rain.

While it’s gun hunting season, Mike and I have been hunting litter in hunt-free areas of our favorite local parks & recreation areas. We always bring a small bag with us to pick up whatever we see on the trails, which usually isn’t much (thankfully). However, once we started going through some of the campgrounds, we found a lot. It’s sad how much people litter when it’s so easy to carry out what you carry in.

I encourage everyone to go litter hunting. You can do it anywhere, it’s always open season on litter, and it leaves things better than you found them.

Downy Woodpecker - Picoides pubescens

Hi Everyone,

Lady Downy stayed close to the tree, using it as a windbreak. It was awfully cold that morning. I know spring is just around the corner!

I really appreciate your views, comments and faves. A sincere thank you! Have a wonderful day!

(EXPLORED) This is my newest yard ornament given to me by a co-worker. Knowing our love of lizards, she gave us this peeking gecko....isn't he cute?!!

This is the female of the Twins from the last Bear photo I posted. It was very overcast & near dusk when I took this, tough lighting conditions but awesome to witness.

A man was walking his dog, (well behaved and on a leash) but Mom thought it best to get to a safe location and was up the tree in a split second followed by the Twins. Once the dog was out of the picture mom came down with the rest of the family. It amazes me how fast they can go up and equally down a tree, those claws are effective and the Bears are nimble.

Every year Bears lose their coat and grow it back, these year-old bears might look a bit cinnamon but are Black Bears through and through & will have their new shiny black coat soon.

I'm sure we will see them again and be able to share more photos with their new outfits.

They say people in the PNW are tree huggers and the Bears aren't any different....:)

Bat For Lashes- "Seal Jubilee"

This film expired in 1998, which for 600 is a pretty long life. The colors barely turned out from the whole pack, and the other two cartridges that came with this box had completely dead developer, so nothing really. I see this photo as luck and happiness, and I love snow.

am i being too pastoral?

For the past few months I have been fortunate to work with a talented and beautiful musician, Xerephine Musica, in making PR shots, fine art work and documenting the making of her latest video. She plays several instruments, writes her own songs and has a sweet, angelic voice. If you would like to hear her music see the links below to her Instagram and Facebook.

Three of them were perched above me while I was unloading and mounting up my camera!

I'm not quite sure what's happening here... but it looks to me like everything was exactly where it should be (myself included).

No edition done to any of my photos not even cropped, unless it says so, direct from negative to flickr.

The one on the track seems to have a borked ear... :(

I posted this in the Treehugger group and later found that Treehugger had featured the photo on their site!

While most people are posting images of the amazing wildflower bloom in the Carrizo, I’m sharing this image of a small herd of Pronghorn taken just a wee bit north of the Carrizo Plains National Monument. Of course, I took images of the wildflowers too, I couldn’t help but stop and capture this image of these curious Pronghorn. They were quite accommodating and actually approached me as if they had some strange message to share. Whatever it was, I missed it and just really enjoyed sharing the moment with them. #mymothernature #naturephotography #wildlifephotography #Pronghorn #nanpapix #canonusa #treehugger #CarrizoPlainsNM #wildplanet #wildlifeplanet #NationalMonument #California

The older I become the more hesitant I become about sharing images of myself. It helps, however, when I get encouragement and reassurances about these images. I will continue posting images of myself as long as my flickr friends seem happy to see me.
