This is my favorite picture ever! I was looking at caterpillar on a tree and I spotted a tiny hole. I had an urge to look inside but it was too high for me. I took my camera and raised it up and shot pictures down into the hole and was delighted and awestruck by what was revealed! This amazing and adorable little tree frog!

I just learned that the orange tail makes this a gray treefrog, Hyla versicolor. Don't worry, we put it right back into the water!
There is nothing to see here. Just listen. At night our ditch is alive with frogs. You can hear them but not see them. My first attempt was poor quality as I was not close enough. So in this take I try to approach a particularly vocal group. I cannot see them but they are well aware of my presence. And half way through this take they shut up as I get too close
