I had to relocate this little tree frog from our camper to the garden. I think he'll find his new home much safer than a camper going down the highway.

This is from a locality known to have both H. chrysoscelis and H. versicolor, so it could be a Cope's.

DISTRIBUTION/HABITAT: Southeastern Mexico, through Central America, to northwestern Colombia. Habitat: Live near ponds or rivers in neotropical rainforests from sea level up to 960 m. These nocturnal frogs are completely arboreal. During the day they remain motionless, blending in among the foliage. They live in warm (75-85° F, day; 66-77° F, night), humid (80-100%) climates.

Red-eyed treefrogs will lay their eggs on leaves above a body of water to keep them safe till they hatch, after which they drop down into the water. Found these stuck to the leaf of an orchid in my greenhouse. There was only a small puddle that would have soon dried up. So I put a tray underneath with some dirt and small plants in it. Hopefully some will make it to adulthood.
treefrogs of all kinds were falling out of a patio umbrella when it it was opened. No frogs where harmed and they all enjoyed the party very much. bud....wieser
