There is a mobile tuft on his head.

On Friday January 21st, and early Saturday January 22nd, my wife and I experienced a winter storm. We woke up to about 2 inches of snow accumulation this morning.

Located in Page, Arizona, Antelope Canyon is one of the most exquisitely beautiful geological formations in America. Often overlooked by tourists, its unsurpassed beauty is breathtaking . Page, Arizona is located on the Utah border of North Central Arizona very close to the Glen Canyon Dam and the gateway to the Lake Powell recreational area.

The sandstone bedrock of Antelope Canyon has been intricately carved by the infrequent but often violent flow of water. It is sculpted into beautiful undulating curves and hollows that vary from one to three meters wide by up to 50 meters deep. The sunlight filtering down from above produces a myriad of soft colors and shadows. The effect is exquisitely beautiful......it is indeed a photographer's wonderland.

In mid April, hangman's capped Dark-eyed Junco perches for its portrait at the Japenese Garden in Portland, Oregon.

He sure seemed perky and happy. After all, spring is everywhere now.

Path through a small wood with shrubs and trees on either side. A long lies on its side and a bench is beside the path.

I was out taking pictures of Fall foliage when I looked up and noticed this limb. It is not something I would normally take and I think I'm out of my element, but I thought I'd give it a try. I don't know what kind of tree it is or what the little balls are, but they appear to be nuts of some kind. I have a pecan tree in my yard at home. The nuts fall at the same time as the leaves. I wonder when these nuts fall.

Took a few pictures around the home where my wife and I reside this morning.

The grass, wrapped around the branch about a foot below the bird's feet, was the high tide mark from Hurricane Sandy.

These are two of a twenty-seven Black Vulture committee that were sun bathing and preening in two dead trees.

A group of vultures is called a kettle, committee or wake. The term kettle refers to vultures in flight, while committee refers to vultures resting on the ground or in trees. Wake is reserved for a group of vultures that are feeding. (Wikipedia) Another side note, an adult weighs between two and four pounds.

SOOC besides a little cropping and adding my name. Took a little trip up to John Boyd Thacher State Park in Upstate NY and even though I froze my butt off, I got some nice pictures out of it :) This photo is the same as the one I posted in black and white!!!

A friend of mine saw my "Homage to Igor Kieryluk's Dark Knight" and immediately thought the branch in the background looked like a monster's tentacles. So today I went looking for the branch I used (and somehow lucked out and actually found it!) and shot this in the snow. I used food colouring for blood and monster goo.

Kind of slacked off today as far as taking actual pictures, but did go to work today after sitting at home the past few days with a mild pneumonia. I took this of a tree branch in my backyard as the sun was setting in the distance. I played around a bit in RAW to process it, and it started taking on the appearance of the auroras in the sky, so I continued to play on that theme. Used another shot of the sky with some light clouds and a texture shot from when I shot my Hubble Horse picture as additional textures, and a few other filter effects in CS5. Figured I would try to play with CS5 a bit more and try a few new things.

After my wife left for work, I took a short photo walk before I had to leave for work. It was 31 degrees Fahrenheit but with the sunshine it was actually pleasant outside. Tree branches and blue sky.
