Winter
First of the series. As it just snowed in Belgium at the end of November last year. We headed to the High Fens on a Friday to enjoy the snow without the crowds of the weekend. We could really enjoy this place almost alone. Just a perfect feeling of a snowy landscape.
Conditions were perfect ; almost no wind, cloudly, and it just snowed the day before.

dear friends, am so sorry i was unable to come to your streams while caring for my precious mom when she was here for these weeks..
mom flew back to her home in arizona just the evening before last, and driving home from the airport it felt like i hit a brick wall. which turned out to be bronchial pneumonia.
been really sick, having a hard time even breathing.
even so, am Seeing all as well! .. and soon as my body catches up with this vision :) i will be able to visit You *
and that will be as soon as soon can be.. xox

Timber products are big business in this part of Europe. Rarely have I seen so much heavy snow hanging on to trees. Magic!

The Mushroom Elf has brought some of his little friends to meet the Snow Queen. She is decorating some trees with snow for the Winter Solstice.
The whole forest was frozen this day. A thin layer of the whitest ice covered all, except for this branch wth brown leafs.

No photoshop -The words "Happy Holidays" are made using a cell phone app where yu hold your phone in the air and move it through the photo and as your moving the phone it leaves a trail in the air with the words that you programed in.
I was so excited to take a light painting christmas photo i even drew up this photo in a sketch before i took it, making sure it was all planned out. It was super hard this photo for the reasons that there is so many individual different steps in taking this image. Like making sure the presents were well lit and then the drawing of the tree and the using the cell phone is always such a mission to get those words in there --Thats the thing with light painting you can do all the parts in the photo and there great but you end up messing up just one part and you gota start all over. This photo is 191 seconds long to take, so almost 5 minutes worth of running around in the dark drawing all of the scene, just remembering where you were in the photo so your lights dont overlap each other is tough but thats what i love about light painting, is that process of getting your vision to come out like how it was in your mind. I took almost 3 hours worth of planning and setting up and trying and trying again to nail this shot, it was such a great feeling to final see it complete on the back of my camera. I just chilled out for abit staring at the screen, like ive just ran a marathon. I think thats what i love most about photography. Its those moments when you get to just take it all in. So this was day 360 and my magic christmas. Hope you all have a great holidays. ----danny

Sb-800 1/20th power behind presents aimed at me (zoomed 105)
Sb-800 1/64 power camera left (bare)(zoomed 105) Both flashes were fired via nikon cls on self timer and the flash went off i did the blue smoke coming out of the present then the few red flakes floating of the present as well. Next i drew the Christmas tree and then did the red and blue flakes on the tree to look like the ornaments. After that i did all the red smoke around the room and then i lit up all the present with my mini Noma 60 lumes flashlight. Then for the last part of the photo i made the words in the air "Happy Holidays" using a cell phone app called Text Paint Pro. 191 seconds long
