It is clearly an impressive place; by its vastness and its depth. All the more so during sunrise, to go from total darkness to the shadows that these rock formations draw, it is at that moment that I perceived the magnitude of the place.

How sunset at -30-°C looks like. I finally had the chance to visit Riisitunturi National Park and such a gorgeous place it is. The frozen trees make it look like walking on another planet. But remember to dress warmly! 😅

Here a well-known spot in the park, where a tree had fallen on the road, after that, it was dug so that the cars could pass through again.

Moody Vosges
This one is a moody one ...
I headed up for a fiery sunset, I ended up with that moody scene, but at the end I'm really glad of the result !
I remember we tried to catch the 'promissing' beautiful sunset. On our way there was a lot of fog everywhere, the atmosphere was totally orange. Unfortunately we could not stop on the road for a decent point of view. We continued and we stopped near a forest, after some meters and as the visibility was going down, I found this interesting contrasted moody scene showing the fog on one hand and the darkness of the woods on the other one.
In those cases I would have liked to find other compositions, but time was ticking, each shot tooks seconds (25 seconds for this one), and luminosity was declining rapidly.

I love the quiet neutrality of Winter but I admit that the vibrant colour palette of Spring is a welcome change.
