Belgium - December 2022
With the cooling of the temperatures in early December, there was more and more fog those mornings, so I watched the weather closely for a possible foggy session (as I missed one the week before...).
That morning, conditions had to be met for some fog ! ; No / very little wind, a fairly high level of humidity in the air (here we were almost at 100%), and temperatures approaching the dew point; everything was there.
After a little bike ride to find the right place... here is the result!
Again I used a CPL (circular polarizer filter) to enhance the colors of the leaves by reducing reflected light.

This is one of my luckiest captures ever which I had collectively from taking many pictures in mid air in somewhere between Texas and California this process was hard, but I ended up with this result and I’m so proud of it . Captured on iPhone XS Max.

This one was a bit tricky ; normally I try to have a shorter shutter speed (around 1/6 sec) to capture some details of the waterfall, but here as there was a lot of foam in the water.. A shorter exposure would have fixed too much that foam and drown too much attention in this the scene… I prefered to have a longer shutter speed (2 secs), and have a smooth and motion in the foreground. Leading to the center of that waterfall.
Another solution would have been to take 2 shots : and blend them afterwards in Photoshop, but having the contrast between the silky water and the static rocks suited me.
What are your thoughts ? Does that soft water in the waterfall bothers your ?

Weahter conditions were optimal, after a small failure (cloudy sky a few days earlier), this time was the right one!
I haven't taken any photos for a while, and it really gave me a boost, I'm almost looking forward to autumn!
For the records, I had a little hesitation about the framing... between centering the tree or not... personally I prefer it centered, any thoughts on that ?

The whole forest was frozen this day. A thin layer of the whitest ice covered all, except for this branch wth brown leafs.
