I think I heard this tree reported as stolen on the radio. This is as far as I could go up to Port Jackson without fording a deep creek.

The stump of the last cypress tree that was removed a couple weeks ago. I was smart this time and had Evan wear his rainboots so he wouldn't get wood shavings all over his regular shoes.
Trees is a National Trust holiday cottage, a late 1930s log cabin in working woodland near High Wray. I spent a week there.
The timber that built the house came from the surrounding working woodland. It looks out over Lake Windermere - in the evenings there's a fine display of lights from the houses on the east bank. Separated but not isolated.
The community gathered on Tuesday night for the annual lighting, which was preceded by spirited caroling by the senior girls and the popular reading of the Naughty and Nice list by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
I could not resist posting an upward view of the trees reaching to the sky. I am in awe of these magnificent trees .
