I shot these six coconut trees on the beach, this morning in Santos, Brazil.

Seis árvores tropicais.

Eu fotografei estes seis coqueiros na praia, esta manhã em Santos, Brasil.

"Like a solitary tree,

I stand alone,

Wondering,

Which way the wind,

Will blow.

Like a solitary tree,

Amidst a battle field,

No means to protect,

No way to shield.

The cold winds of life,

Of love and war,

Of changing seasons,

And so much more.

But despite all this,

My roots run deep,

Firm in the ground,

I shall not weep.

Strong am I,

A solitary tree,

Learning from all,

That is around me.

Strong am I,

To brace this wind,

If I show courage,

I’m sure to win.

I'll keep those roots,

Firm in the ground,

In those roots,

My soul is found."

Photograph taken at an altitude of Six metres at 12:33pm on Tuesday 10th September 2013 off the A811 at Drymen on a single track road, the B837 in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park between Balmaha and Milarrochy on the shoreline of Loch Lomond in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Scotland. Here we look across the Loch towards part of the horseshoe ridge encircling Glen Striddle. Its eastern arm rises directly from the village of Luss, which is protected by Beinn Dubh and Cruach Dhubh.

Loch Lomond (Loch Laomainn), a freshwater loch situated on the Highland Boundary fault, is the largest inland stretch of water by surface area in Great Britain, at 39km in length and up to 8km in width with a maximum depth of 190metres. EXPLORED! (THANKS TO YOU mskarim)

trees in the mist

i'm not quite sure how this one turned out like it did -- the second exposure (a closer shot of spanish moss) is incredibly pale in most of the image but then much clearer & darker in places (esp. lower left)... a mystery!

Two leafless Trees awaiting Spring at Deer Hill, Meltham.

The island fortress of Spinalonga has seen the face of war many times and has withstood battles and sieges. Unfortunately, these were not the saddest times the island has seen. Long after the cannons grew cold, the island was used as a leper colony, from 1903 to 1957, one of the last active ones in Europe. The fortress that was built to keep intruders out, became a prison, keeping ill people inside for decades.

These are tall trees, but they also look like feathers

Nothing more, nothing less just a tree silhouette

In the mist. The old tree again. From my visit the other day. Figured I needed a B&W version.

Blogged.

Creepy tree Carton Kildare, shooting into the light on a misty morning has given this tree a creepy haunted look, it was taken on a misty morning with the Hasselbald 60mm lens and a yellow filter on a new film Lucky 100asa (e-Bay cheap and cheerful) developed in ID 11. A nice film that curls a lot but seems to handle this contrasty scene quite well.

I think that I shall never see

A billboard lovely as a tree.

Perhaps, unless the billboards fall,

I'll never see a tree at all.
