No change since yesterday except that some of the contents of the carrier bags have escaped. (And, apparently, my camera has forgotten how to calculate exposure.)

Possibly for future blog use, etc. I scanned in a few of the covers and spines of my favorite collected vinrtage books. Two were taken from the library "discharge and trash" pile when I worked in the library coffee shop - the 3rd is a purchase that I couldnt resist.
The only thing non-original condition is on the Navy "Madame Bovary" hardcover: I had it laying out in a pile for decor at one point, and so I decided to add my own touch of pink paint to the cover (as it had no art.)
And, if you are wondering - the "Girls I Have Met" book is actually a book list of every girl you meet (as a young girl I assume.) It does not have any marks inside at all!
This is a shoot of Keith Kenny (Fade Street) myself and Dave Frain shot in a hotel yesterday.
The concept & props were Dave/Keith and I set out the lighting and basically trashed the place.

Bowens 500 gridded with red filter, high camera left aimed at the bed.
Bowens 500 gridded with blue filter, low camera left aimed at window behind Keith.
Canon 580ex zoomed 105mm with CTO filter high camera left aimed at TV & chest of drawers.
Part of my Workers in China series. This man walks around the Shanghai Museum, picking up trash. His big hat protects him from the rain, but would also work to protect him from the sun.
Our best scrapper buddy Jason dropped by today. He had quite a bit of
R-panel. This material is commonly used in New Mexico for roofing and
fences. It is a extremely thin metal that has a baked on enamel finish
and lasts a long time even with our ridiculous UV levels. Oddly enough
I had just taken a photo of the pricing of different corrugated and R-
panel metals at home depot. The $10 I paid to Jason for four full
sheets is a way better deal with Home Depots $32 per sheet pricing.

Everything has its place in photography, that includes trash, if it is for a better cause why not? I personally hate littering, but do not help removing litter properly in the public, but I hope taking photographs will help raising awareness.
launched a group on flickr today to raise awareness for the environment, inspired by bad human habits towards the disposal of waste. I feel like a loser doing nothing about it, hope it makes me feel better.
"Trash the Dress" take it where you want to...just get your feet wet, climb a tree or jump in a waterfall...

A cat digs through a trash pile in BeyoÄŸlu, Ä°stanbul, Turkey.
'Çöp' means trash in Turkish. I thought it was funny that somebody painted "Trash" on the wall with arrows showing people where to dump it instead of putting out a bin.

These are all over the Saigon Zoo. They have no penguins in the zoo but they have penguin shaped trash cans....well sure why not!
I almost wanted to reorganize this pile. It looked pretty good though. I guess the trash management are doing a good job.
