There wasn't much to see on our drive through North Dakota, but we had a fun time at Trapper's Kettle in Belfield, ND. I finally got the buffalo burger I had been wanting, and the 14yo got a pancake bigger than her head! (This was the only moose we saw on the whole trip, sadly.)
I'm missing the Dobies, so I borrowed my friends' dog for a walk today. It rained and we crossed paths with a very unpleasant woman but Trapper and I still had fun. I *LOVE*LOVE*LOVE* this shot! Tongue peek!
The famous trappers of the early 19th century used to live in huts like this one. Their main aim were beavers but they also hunted lynxes because of their fur.
From this hut the trapper could observe the lynx very well... (and the photographer, too...)

Looking north(ish) towards Denali from Trapper Lake. It is a sizable lake covering 1,140 acres. It is only accessible by float plane in the summer or snow machine in the winter.
