Cracked when I opened her up. This would be about the fourth time I've opened her up.. She was perfect before. The cracks are pretty bad, so I'll be changing her face plates to regular ones. Poor Quinn will be having cosmetic surgery in a couple of weeks.
#campscrap2015 Two tags using Wendy Vecchi's translucent embossing paste. It has a glossy finish which surprised me because I thought it had a matte finish. I haven't put a matte layer on top of everything yet. Haven't decided if I want to or not.
I am a Nerd.
Just received my Newton eMate 300. Jonthan Ive's first attempt in traslucent plastic product design for Apple (if we exclude some earlier transparent case Newton MessagePads).
3 Newts in the collection right now.
The battery still works!!!
The plan is now to connect it to the Internet via wi-fi (I collected all the nedeed hardware over the years).
"Why in the world" are you asking yourself.
Because we can.
I cut out pieces from translucent white plastic Healthy Choice Steamer bowls for light diffusion purposes.
One of the three large "raised" forms that came out of the kiln this morning had a large crack in it, on the base where it must have been hammered very thin. I do like the translucency however!
This is Stratford 6-50 porcelain from Tucker, fired around cone 7-8 in oxidation.
Was hoping the translucent effect would show up on the rooftop shadow. Between the county courthouse and the county jail. :) No Man's Land.
I finished my sister's birthday present! :)
I made her a vintage handkerchief dress to match her eyelids. I also handpainted 3 of her eye chips. This was my first attempt at a semi open mouth, it was fun! ♥
Ah, Memphis! Yep, not the 8' of snow we were told to prepare for. Nope! Just a few inches of ice. Enough for me to watch the blue, green and orange light show emanating from the exploding power lines and transformers. Fun times!
The kawakawa leaves were all full of holes and this little translucent slug looked very guilty, but had a fully tummy at the same time.
The moon in high altitude translucent clouds and a low altitude cloud deck...
A series of experiments with a featureless moon...
All the colors are in the stream of light photons detected by the sensor chip. Each composition highlights different colors and hues that were present in different proportions in the sunlight as reflected by the moon and filtered by the clouds and atmospheric molecules...

Gill and anus; J. onubensis on left; found under a stone at 14 m depth. Cadaqués, Catalonia. October 2007. © M. Pontes.
J. tomentosa on right.
The translucent, almost colourless gills have a fine brown punctuation on J. onubensis only, hardly distinguishable to the naked eye.
The base of extended gills is surrounded by a collar-like sheath in both species.
Jorunna onubensis Cervera, GarcÃa-Gómez & GarcÃa, 1986,
is very similar to J. tomentosa; reliable identification of this species requires examination of dissected anatomical features and, ideally, D.N.A sequencing. The external features below are described in the original description of J. onubensis [based on four intertidal specimens from Huelva, southern Spain]. The features illustrated in this Flickr account are on a specimen from Catalonia of J. onubensis identified by Miquel Pontes and confirmed by Prof. J. Lucas Cervera. Many features are common to both J. onubensis and J. tomentosa; confirmation by dissection and/or D.N.A, sequencing is desirable. Specimens of J. onubensis photographed by one of the authors of its first published description, J. C. GarcÃa Gómez, can be seen at opistobranquis.info/en/guia/nudibranchia/euctenidiacea/do...
and other images by L. Sánchez-Tocino at

It has been recorded from Spain, Portugal, Madeira and the Canary Islands.
