Acrylic sculptural relief mounted on wooden panel. 300mm by 150mm.

This turned out to be a difficult piece to accomplish. It is very difficult to glue transparent plastic without making a mess. Even if you are careful, one can still see where the top piece of plastic has been glued to the bottom one through the top piece, so the glued joint has to be pretty much perfect. It took quite a few attempts to get it this far. Still, one can still see the honesty of the construction.

Translucent and white, one can see the blood vessels through the skin there on its back... I also liked the velvet blue water reflection here.

Rather nice Collegiate Gothic academic building, with particularly good translucent-floored book stacks.

When Freyja Scarlett's sweet friend Señor Gomez came out of the closet she ensured he felt loved, respected & above all felt as equally & bewitchingly beautiful as she! Hey, it's just what best friends do, especially around Halloween! ;)

There's just something special about shooting an old manual focus lens on a new(er) digital camera...

Always astonished at how thin a hare's ears are, the sunlight shines through. What kind of sunblock do you need for that? SP500?

Dedicated to my friend, dardilrocks...

Thank you my friend, for showing me so many of nature's wonders hidden inside.

This is shot in macro mode, but the agate chunk is actually quite large. It is perhaps 2 1/2 feet across! I saw this in a wholesale vendor area at the Tucson Electric Park venue, in the 2007 Tucson Rock and Gem Show. The day was overcast and it was the last day of the whole event. To edit this photo, all I needed to do was dust, via the cloning tool. The macro mode on my camera was so good that the tiniest of dust bits were showing on the surface. The translucent areas were wonderful to show the hidden colors deep inside this wonderful specimen.

The forces of winter have nearly dissolved this leaf's lamina, leaving the rib and veins like a skeleton on the crystals of melting snow.

Ever since a photography teacher named Paul Johnson taught me years ago to look for back lit or side lit objects against dark backgrounds, I go looking for things like this. One of the nice things about November is that the sun is much lower in the sky, and the opportunity for natural lighting like this is much greater. I saw this beautiful plant at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park.
