April 14, 1979. The westbound TV train might be the subject of the photo but the surrounding railroad is a big deal too. You have a clean, manicured right of way devoid of trash and weeds. Fresh ties and fresh ballast show signs of progress as Conrail moves toward becoming a profitable railroad.

Abandoned powerplant complex near Leipzig. This Building contained once a number of transformers. Night, full moon, two minutes exposure time. Sodium vapor light, green, blue and pink gelled flash.
The minutes between the golden light turning to night. Wow what a sunset for my last dusk in the Warrumbungles.
The promontory to the right in this shot is a tiny bit of Bayfront park in Hamilton, a large portion of which used to be an industrial landfill site. It has been transformed into a wonderful waterfront oasis with something for everyone, and that includes the wild creatures, who were not forgotten in the plans.

A gorgeous Fall day after days of blowing rain and wind from the nor'easter that roared through. And with the warm sunlight everything is transformed. :)
Standing on ancient volcanic rock in Kauai it's hard to imagine violent eruptions of magma being transformed into this verdant island paradise. A dream site I found said that lava rock represents - The fire inside, - intensity, - the depth of your connection with the earth, and - freeing from emotional and spiritual rubble. I don't know if all that is true, but they are interesting ideas to think about...

This repaint is inspired by the hit tv show "Vampire Diaries". Ian Somerhalder portrays the character along with Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore and Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert.
I use Tonner Doll Company's factory produced Damon Salvatore doll. The inset photos show the doll in its original factory state and during the transformation.
As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The doll also underwent extensive hair rework to match the proportions of the face. .
Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

Transformation Tuesday!
A lot can happen in a month, year, or ... 6 years! Back in 2008 i picked up a camera because I needed a reference to paint from, 6 years later I decided to challenge myself by shooting a similar concept in the same location.

The original image is the colour one and it is virtually sooc just a little crop to square. The blue one beside is the colour negative. Below are the black and white and negative B&W versions. Each one was converted in Serif and then combined in Picasa. Done for Slider's Sunday.
Le ciel est un élément de la nature que j’aime particulièrement regarder. Ces couleurs nous indiquent le temps à venir. Combien de fois, j’ai dit à ma femme, ce soir le ciel est rempli d’étoiles scintillants, il fera beau demain. Lorsque les nuages emplissent le ciel et que ceux-ci sont tous noirs, nous savons que l’orage approche.
Parfois, lors d’un soir d'orage, je regarde le ciel pour le voir se transformer. Voir les nuages qui s’amoncellent pour lentement obscurcir le jour est un spectacle hors de l’ordinaire.
Puis vient se bruit sourd et ces éclats de lumière. Plus le bruit est vigoureux, plus l’orage approche. Avez-vous remarqué que l’éclair apparait après le coup de tonnerre, environ 15 à 30 secondes plus tard.
Non, les soirs d’orage, le ciel n’est vraiment pas banal à regarder.
