Transforming Bus Shelters across four South Holland villages, into surprising and quirky spaces, celebrating the uniqueness of each location between 5th and 9th August 2014. Transported and commissioned artist, Jo Wheeler, turned the bus stops into tiny exhibition spaces touring each village for one day only and sharing refreshments, conversations and stories.

É com profunda emoção e esperança que apresentamos o Centro Infantil Emília Almeida, um projeto social criado para transformar a vida das crianças do município do Cazenga. A educação é um fenômeno social complexo e dinâmico, essencial em todas as eras da civilização humana, e só se torna verdadeiramente eficaz através da participação e colaboração de todos os agentes e agências de socialização.
O jovem Esmeraldo Pinto, nascido em 30 de dezembro de 2001, é a força motriz por trás deste projeto. Crescendo em um ambiente repleto de desafios, Esmeraldo não se deixou abater pelas dificuldades. Pelo contrário, ele viu nelas uma oportunidade de fazer a diferença. Movido por um profundo desejo de ajudar as crianças de sua comunidade, ele fundou o Centro Infantil Emília Almeida.
Nossa infraestrutura atualmente acolhe 210 crianças, oferecendo um espaço onde elas não apenas aprendem matérias escolares, mas também descobrem e desenvolvem seus talentos e habilidades. Temos cinco salas de aula, quatro professores dedicados, dois WCs e uma secretaria. Aqui, as crianças têm a oportunidade de aprender a cantar, declamar e se expressar de maneiras que vão muito além do currículo tradicional.
O principal objetivo do Centro Infantil Emília Almeida é garantir que cada criança tenha a chance de um futuro melhor através da educação. Acreditamos que, com o apoio da comunidade e de parceiros comprometidos, podemos expandir este projeto e alcançar ainda mais crianças que estão fora do sistema de ensino.
