Seen in the workshop at Transdev's Blackburn depot is ECW bodied Leyland Olympian 2173, C173 ECK. It was new to Ribble in 1985. It is still in passenger earning service and is very well looked after by the company.

Transdev Harrogate have replaced most of their Dennis Javelin dedicated school buses over Easter with 6 Leyland Olympians from Lancashire, this brings the fleet total up to 9 at Harrogate !! The move is all very political and makes a point... but still it makes things colourful. Perhaps the most interesting of the lot is 25 year old former Merseybus F263YTJ which after repaint and spruce up looks outstanding. Others are from the G/UMJ H/GKX and F/PRE batches and most look equally tidy. Here 163 is seen at one of my favourite spots for photography in Starbeck with the signs of Spring evident in the background. This bus is en-route to operate the service from Rossett to Granby Corner 785H as the reprogrammed destination shows.
